O’Reilly NARA Battle of Bluegrass DirtCars Prepares for 4th Annual June Jam

LEXINGTON, KY -- After eight races with eight different winners, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series makes their second stop of the 2005 Season at Bardstown, KY's Bluegrass Speedway.

Saturday Night, June 11th, Bluegrass Speedway will host their 4th Annual "June Jam" paying $3,000 to win. It will be the 12th appearance since 2002 for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar series at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted and Charles Hamilton owned high-banked 1/2-mile track. In the previous 11 sanctioned races, Don O'Neal, Mike Jewell and Darrell Lanigan have each won twice with single wins over that time going to Rick Corbin, 2002 BoB Champion Eddie Carrier Jr., Tim Tungate, Brad Neat, and most recently Shannon Babb. In this particular event, Eddie Carrier Jr. and Darrell Lanigan each have one win with "Mother Nature" claiming the victory last year.



A full night of racing will see a complete show for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts with Racing Optics Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Powers Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 30-lap O’Reilly Auto Parts A-main paying $3,000 to win. Pit gates are slated to open at 4pm with main gates opening at 5pm. The driver’s meeting will be at 6pm with Hot Laps at 6:30pm, Racing Optics Time Trials at 7pm and racing at 8pm. Adult general admission is $15, with children ages 6 to 12 being $8, children under age 6 are free, and pit passes will be $30.

147 different drivers have competed in 2005 with the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series with Dunnville, KY's Whitney McQueary currently leading the series point standings followed by Rookie of the Year Candidate Chris Combs, Michael England, Tim Tungate, and Aaron Hatton. So far, the 2005 season for the BoB Late Models has seen eight different winners in as many races with Rick Combs, Dan Schlieper, Scott James, Shannon Babb, Whitney McQueary, Dennis Erb, Aaron Hatton, and Bryan Barber each finding victory lane.
