WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Aug. 15, 2005) -– The action heats up again this week for the stars and cars of the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series with three big events in four days.

On Thursday, the O’Reilly USMTS teams roll into Allison, Iowa's Highway 3 Raceway for the Dirt Works Race Cars Hawkeye Summer Classic. The event marks the return of the "Best of the Best" to the fan-favorite oval since 2003. The event will also serve as the seventh race for Dirt Works Race Cars Swing #4 and kick off the final weekend of racing in the nine-race swing.

The last time the O’Reilly USMTS invaded the half-mile semi-banked oval, Oklahoma's Jason Hughes walked away with the top prize. After a 12-race hiatus, Hughes is expected to return to the Series to defend his Highway 3 Raceway (formerly Butler County Speedway) crown.

Kelly Shryock of Fertile, Iowa -- a two-time winner at the Allison oval -- will lead the charge of the Midwest's hottest dirt modified pilots as he seeks his 14th win this season and, ultimately, an unprecedented seventh O’Reilly USMTS title.

Other drivers entered for this $2,000-to-win shootout include Brad McEwan of Storm Lake, Iowa, who currently sits second in O’Reilly USMTS points and is hungry for this first win, as well as Tommy Myer of Blooming Prairie, Minn., who is seeking his fifth win in 2005.

Other aces who will challenge for the win include Corey Dripps, Jon Tesch, Zack VanderBeek, Ryan Ruter, Jason Krohn, Mark Noble and Al Hejna. Hejna currently sits atop the Dirt Works Race Cars Swing #4 points standings on the strength of back-to-back wins two weeks ago in Illinois.

Also on tap this Thursday night are B-Mods and Hobby stocks, with $300 going to the winner of the feature race in each class.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 7 and racing to follow. Grandstand tickets are $13 for adults, $4 for kids (ages 6-12) and children 5 and under are admitted FREE. Highway 3 Raceway is located 0.3 mile north of SR 3 on S. Main St. (towards downtown).

After Thursday's clash, the O’Reilly USMTS moves on to the Pritchard Family Auto Stores Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, on Friday, Aug. 19, then visits the Cresco (Iowa) Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 21
