Observations From Pevely

The heat races were incredible. The features were extremely "racy" for a track that had no cushion.

Tim Manville was faster than Randy Korte! Once Manville finally made the pass, he looked like he was driving a slot car around that track.

Ray Walsh had the mod to beat. Though, once he got beat, he got beat bad. Went from 1st to out of the top 5 in a hurry.

Troy Neager wins a Sportsman feature at I-55 Raceway. Wow, what a surprise.

Both of Korte's car are beautiful. Mark Voight debuted a stunning new car tonight too.

Why is it that every time I go to Pevely, I see Craig Smith break something? Craig Smith is very fast, but he sure is tough on his stuff.

The Pro-4 wreck in turn one was the hardest hit I think I've ever seen in that class. The sound of that crash was sickening. Thankfully, nobody was hurt.

Big thanks to Randy Korte and team for selling me a window decal after the event. If any other Late Model driver has window decals to sell, please PM me.

What an incredible weekend of racing. I'm a very satisfied customer.

Observations!

Yes, Ray Walsh was fast but, I think the car to beat in the Mods. was Ricky "Hollywood" Horton! He won the heat, second in the dash, and won the feature! Great job Ricky! All in all, it was a great opening night and I was happy to be there. THANKS to all who provided and supported their local racing on this beautiful evening!

I believe a piece of the gas pedal or something actually broke on Walsh's car.

That would explain it then. I just figued his tires went away on him.

Ricky Horton was awesome tonight. Scott Weber, Bobby Bittle, and Tim Hancock all charged hrough the field to finsh several positions ahead of their starting spots.

It was a good night of racing, my only problem with last night was the secondary track announer, the one that does the sportsman and pro4. I'm sorry but his voice is piercing and he says any nonsensensical thing that come to his mind. By the end of the night I wanted to stick my pocket knife in my ears. Sorry if I'm hurting anyone feelings, but it is suppose to be entertaining when he way behind the mic it wasn't.

He once said something about the drivers "Savoring the moment". My friend and I just kind of looked at each other and said "What?!?" LOL

The way I see it, everybody should hope Korte doesn't get that Mod hooked up on the dry slick tracks. He was checked out in the heat.
