there is something called projections but wait a second whenther elections were going on everyone said 7-10 years nown its 2 years which is it
there is safety regulations for your chicken there is safety inspections for your car or house etc so why not the oil industrySo am I really hearing you say that you want to government to tighten regulations.
CAREFUL HOUND, YOUR FLIRTING WITH BECOMING A SOCIALIST.
And how does BP's irresponsibility "catch the industry with its pants down"? They chose not to fix faulty equipment which caused the whole catastrophy.
if there was she should be responible and fired some companies cut corners (bp) its the inspectors jobs to keep things safe I would say they the inspectors didn't do their job wouldn't you
no john q public will get screwedI have to totally disagree with this statement.
The County Health Department inspects my restaraunts once every three months. There are strict regulations and rules that I must adhere to. One of them is to store and hold raw foods at a safe temperature.
Raw chicken is supposed to be held at less than 40*F (Industry Standard). Although the CHD checks those temperatures each visit, It is my daily responsibility to make sure the cooler is cooling properly, and to check the temperatures of each case of chicken. If something is wrong, it is my responsibility to fix the problem and throw away any chicken that has not been held below 40*F.
If I choose not to throw that chicken away and cook and serve it anyway, someone will become ill as a result. If that person develops salmonella or e-coli and is hospitalized or even worse dies, I am responsible and subject to a law suit. I have never heard of a health department being sued.
Have you? Remember several years ago when Jack in the Box had an outbreak of e-coli from serving undercooked hamburgers? Who was sued? The CHD or Jack?
So explain to me how an oil rig inspector could possibly be to blame (even partially) for BP choosing not replacing a broken gasket, and a faulty blowout preventer?
An inspectors job is to inspect and advise, not to fix or repair problems. They cannot be there 24 hrs a day 7 days/wk. That gasket could have been damaged 15 minutes after he inspected. BP chose not to fix a problem they knew about, and it bit them in the azz. They should pay.
