when did they close and why

the late model that went in the tree.i think they had to saw it out with a chain saw.somebody can correct me if i'm wrong.the first time we went to the club house to get paid.we were drinking beer and we were all most out of beer in the cooler in the truck.i asked the bar tender what time they closed so i could get beer for the trip home. it was like 2 hours from white city to home. she told me they closed when they wanted too. BOY THAT WAS A FUN RACE TRACK

I believe they let Lumpy's car (sportsman) in the tree until the races were over. There were other cars that hit trees in the turn 1 pasture. They had to hook the hot wire back up to keep the cows in. Cars would disappear over the edge in turn three then jump back on at the on-ramp in turn four. Some of thoses street stocks had some powerful motors. It was entertaining to watch the haulers leave after a rainout.

The crowds were usually thin. I don't believe they ever made much money.

We sure had alot of fun then. Tim and Tom had a streetstock back in the day. --we still laugh about the "wing" they put on the roof. Don't know if it made them any faster-- did make a good conversation piece though.
