Only 186 Days 'til Season Opener 2006!!!!!!

Light Man
:( Are you down in the dumps because the 2005 Regular Season is already over? Well don't be, because 2006 is just around the corner! And right now we have a lot to do (and a lot in store) to make 2006 a HUGE SUCCESS!!!

:p #1 on our priority list is advertising. We are offering several advertising opportunities for next season & they start right here, right now. If you are a current BRSD advertiser, or, if you are interested in a vinyl sign, sponsor night, rule book ad, etc., feel free to contact me ASAP. You can leave a post here or e-mail me @ brsdrewards@sbcglobal.net and I will respond as quickly as possible. You may call me if you like: 573-366-5242 (8a-8p) or 573-431-4746 (8p-12a) -- Yes, the times are correct. I am willing to accept your call just about anytime! My name is Jason H., but Spongebob will do if you prefer!!! Our advertising rates are extremely affordable & there is no doubt - You WILL get your money's worth! We even have opportunities available to sponsor our 2nd Annual Buggy Nationals (date TBA later) and the 6th Annual ATV Nationals. And you didn't hear it from me, but there is even rumor of a 1st Annual 4x4 Nationals (date TBA later)!! How awesome is that?!? So, please get involved as soon as you can. We'd love to have you.

Our work days are scheduled for April 1 & 2, and that is no April Fools Joke! These are days in which racers, staff and anyone else who wishes may volunteer their services to prepare the track for opening night. Projects such as painting, cleaning and renovation are a must. The more man (and woman) power we have, the better! Please help if you can. Also keep in mind that we don't have to wait until April to start these projects. Myself along with Jason & Christi and other staff members will be working on several things this Winter--So, give me a call if you want to come out and help.

I have spoken with our webmaster at www.bigriversanddrags.com and I assure you, it will be re-constructed and ready to view very soon! We had a few minor problems to iron out, but all will be good in the coming weeks. I would like to recognize www.stlracing.com and its staff for an excellent website and for giving us sand drag racing fans and fans of all types of racing the opportunity to speak out, learn and grow together. This site is a true asset and necessity right now and I just wanted to say "THANK YOU!!"

The last item I would like to mention today is the Poker Run Race scheduled for October 29th. As Jeff has already said, the details are still being lined out. However, we do know that it will begin either late morning or early afternoon & it's going to be a blast! This is something we have never tried before and I think it will be interesting and quite fun to participate in. Therefore, get your ATV's out of the shed and join us on 10/29!!!

Well folks, thank you for taking the time to read this today. I am extremely psyched about everything going on right now and I hope you are too! I'd love to hear your questions, comments or suggestions.

Sincerely,
Jason H.

Don't count on it. (4x4 Nationals).... It takes time and committment like the buggy guys did for the Buggy Nationals last year. One or even two people can't do it and do it right. I had all kinds of people promising to help me with a special show for the 4x4s during the Labor Day weekend and you see how far that went.

Here's some plain talk people..... Unless the owners, employees and racers work together on projects like that things are NEVER going to improve. There are some HUGE possibilities at Big River and I mean huge but you can't expect someone else to do it for you or things will stay just the way they are right now. Now if you're satisfied with that, OK, but if you want to see some bigger shows, some bigger names and some big time fun we've got to come together better!

Much to Look Forward to in 2006

The great thing about next year is that we have gained another year's experience. I know that may not be extremely prophetic, but it's true. The sport has come a long way in the past 20 years, and so has our little track! The owners were confronted by many new situations (and in some cases, problems) in 2005, and I think it's safe to say that everything was eventually resolved. I say that not as a judgement, but rather a compliment.

I definitely plan to return to the track in 2006, and like my co-workers, I think we're all motivated once again to make this coming year the best we've ever had.

That being said, I have to say -- Spongebob, you know that you're the only person in the world who would count down the days, right? Not even I am that obsessive.

I do plan to be obsessive about the website this year, though. A brand new Dell Inspiron 6000 (Media edition) is being shipped to me as we speak, so it'll be no time at all before I'm writing out html code for the new and improved BigRiverSandDrags.com! Also being shipped with that laptop will be a new Cannon digital camcorder. This means: 80+ minutes of digital recording. Which means we will have video on the new BigRiverSandDrags.com! This also means that DVD's of particular races will be available for sale in 2006.

With the downside, however, will be the fees for the new website. Videos + viewers = more space needed + more bandwidth used. That all equals more money... so... I would like to stress the need for advertisements on BigRiverSandDrags.com in 2006 -- Contact Jason H. for details on that.

Umm... I think that's it for now. I hope that you all have a great offseason, and note that I'll be ready to go once Summer Break hits Missouri State University!

Take Care all!

I'm ready to rock and roll.... We need to get together as a group and line everything out. I'd like to invite everyone over here to sit down and work out a bunch of details... Just like we did for the Buggy Nationals.

YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN VERY UNDERSTANDING AS TO THE PROBLEMS THAT WE HAVE HAD AND WORKED WITH US THROUGH IT ALL AND STUCK WITH US WITHOUT ANY NEGATIVITY SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND WE ARE STARTING ALREADY FOR NEXT SEASON........THANKS TO KAREN AND TIM DEE, JASON AND NICK HARRIS AND DAWN AND NIKKI IN THE CONCESSION, JEFF MILLSEY AND TO RICKI AT THE GATE, AND ARCHIE CAMDEN FOR KEEPING ALL OF THE ATV'S GUYS FROM STRANGLING ME. AND ALL OF OUR STAFF, I JUST CAN NOT BEGIN TO NAME YOU ALL, SO THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS STOOD BEHIND IN THE YEARS:D

Yes, it was a great year. Nick, I am very impressed with your efforts lol. Keep up the good work. Maybe we should come up with a Sand Drag metal for duty above and beyond what is expected of you. Everyone else did a fantastic job as well. Thanks for allowing me some cool down those last few races. I'll be in comp next year, so you wont have to worry about me lol.

Lookout Brad, Carla, Stevie and the rest of the good people in comp lol. Thats if I get my truck back together anyway. Right now its scattered all over a shop floor with parts all over the county getting worked on lol. Where oh where is my winning lottery ticket lol.

Everything went well except the night Christi had everyone asking me what was wrong with my truck lol. Christi, you have to shift when the little light comes on lol. I had a blast this year. Congratulations to all the winners and to those who gave it their best shot.
