Opening Night at Cerro Gordo Speedway is Tonight, Sure to be a cant miss!!
With what seemed to be a never ending Winter and a late Blizzard that swept across the Midwest which dropped 18 inches of snow that took all test and tune sessions from us, Karts will finally hit in the track tonight at Cerro Gordo Speedway. Alot of hard work over the past few weeks by the Cerro Gordo Speedway crew has got the Speedway ready for the 2013 season.
There has been alot of key additions to the schedule in 2013 with a newly formed Kids Club, a huge 5 race Unilli money series which pays $1000 to win each event, formation of the TT Bone Extreme Karting Midwest Lightning Series, UAS Open series making its first visit ever, the addition of the Hoosier Dirt Duals in June, couple of new classes, tons of sponsor giveaways, and the return of the Burris Thunder Tour. Everyone at Cerro Gordo Speedway has worked hard to give back to the fans and drivers in 2013.
Tonights Opening Night starts the season off with a bang. We will have a 30 lap Winged Sprint Kart feature that will pay a $400 purse (*15 kart minimum) and a 2ft tall trophy going home with the winner. We will be having a Blessing of the Karts with Pastor Nick Courtney. We will also be having a very special 50/50 drawing to help a family rebuild after a tragic fire took their house and their possessions. All of Cerro Gordo Speedways proceeds of the 50/50 will go to the Harter family. The Harter family are the promoters of the Ealeyville Speedway and we want to do everything we can to help. We will have all of our weekly classes.
General Admission is still FREE in 2013 so bring your friends and family out for some dirt go kart racing under the lights and enjoy a fun and exciting night. Gates open at 4pm, Hot laps 6:30, and racing at 7. For any questions call 217 5129-2471.
