I want to know why is it that when you give a person a mic and put them in a booth they think that nobody els knows what go's on during a race and for the love of what ever you want to cuss to why do you have to holler at the drivers over the pa system where we have to listen to it in the stands do you really think we want to hear that and while I'm on the soap box instead of the flagman showing the yellow at the end of a heat race and pointing in the air throw the checkerd flag there's a lot more things I could put here but like other post I put its going to be taking off here.

Why is it, that people HAVE to find something to bitch about???? For one, mike does a damn good job, he's one of the best announcers I have heard.. He gets personal with the fans and the drivers... 2nd, mike doesn't want to announce all the time, he would like to spend some of the summer with his family, so Cory is looking for someone. Why don't you go apply... Why doesnt anyone ever get on here and THANK the Drivers and Crews and the Track Workers and Owners, for doing a Damn good job and for having a track close to home to race at????? It's sad to see that people have to find something to bitch about, to make there self feel better... WOW how sad... I say THANK you Cory and Jill, All track Workers, All Drivers & All Crews, for doing an Awesome job and putting on a Great Show every Saturday Night...

Hi Skooby!! How are you?! Hey Skooby, what does "opions" mean? I see you titled this post with that word, just wondering if you can define it... If not, no biggy. It's ok. Hey Skooby, do you know what an announcer is actually supposed to do? Have you ever announced? Would you like to? I can hook you up... Can I tell you something about your "soap box" Skooby? In the 30 years I've been going to the races there, they always have thrown the checkered flag at the end of the heat races. And if you pay real close attention, they throw it at the end of the dashs, semis, and even the features! But you gotta watch for it Skooby. Hey, ill save you a seat one night. You should come and sit by me and watch it. I have a pretty good seat and can see all the flags that get thrown. I really think you'll be able to see them better too. And Skooby, one more thing, Thanks for thinking about me, buddy! Sweet dreams! - Mike.

so you know who I am who cares but I was talking about the hot laps everybody gets their underware in a twist when you make any kind of comment about the place

Hot laps are exactly what it says "hot laps" and not a race. A race ends with a checkered flag. Some people just want to get on the internet to complain about stuff instead of confronting the owner to discuss whatever problem they have. I have found that the easiest way to deal with something, someone, or some place that i don't like is to stay away from them.

who's complaining just making a statement and from what I've heard he'll just say if you don't like it don't come

Hey skoob-----a new place to BITCH????????at Fredericktown all you ever did was bitch and complain about EVERYTHING>So I guess you grew out of that gig and would like to try bigger shoes--------Just maybe you should grow a set--or grow up a little and be VERY THANKFUL you have a local track to go watch some excellent racing at a very good facility, with some of the BEST facilities and people around.Be thankful to all the racers, owners,&sponsors to have this for your enjoyment.Maybe you are not enjoying it at this time and need to take a break----or maybe look in the mirror and do a reality check-----maybe I have said something out of line-----but my opinion----And as a decorated army (RANGER)veteran--I have fought for the right to state my opinion--------Jim Randolph

AGAIN its not a bitch or complaint seems like all the complaints about my post are coming from people who work there or race or have a car that race there and I don't really know what your talking about on the track at Fredericktown I've never been there or have made any kind of comments about the place.

Skooby, to answer your initial question - as you know, sat night was $5 night, and these nights bring in a lot of people who don't come to the races on a regular basis or some who have never been at all. Therefore, when a call is made, and they don't understand what is going on or why, it is my job to explain to them what just happened. Not everyone is a dedicated race fan that knows the rules. As far as yelling at the drivers? I'm assuming you are referencing to me calling them to staging. Again, that is one of the jobs of an announcer. Drivers don't always pay attention to what race is on track, and realize that they are up next. So we have pit stewards and an announcer to try to make sure they are ready so we don't hold up the show waiting on so and so to get in his car and get out on the track. Nobody likes to have to sit and wait. We want to see the race.

Hopefully this kinda clarifies your understanding a little bit. I know sometimes I sound like a broken record, but I'm just doing my job. And like Lisa said, you, and/or anyone else, are/is more than welcome to that job if you would like it. My kids are wanting to go camping and floating more this summer, but we are unable to do so due to my job in the booth under the Saturday night lights.

Now, in closing, I want you to understand something. You can hide behind your screen name and trash talk me all you want, but you're beating a dead horse. Speaking for MYSELF, not the track or anyone affiliated with St. Francois County Raceway, I could honestly care less about your opinion, or any word that comes out of your mouth, or what your fingertips create on this forum, that are aimed at me. You're wasting your time. But hey, it's yours to waste. Knock yourself out.

-Mike

I have personally told Mike and others that I think Mike does a good job. It's obvious he has been around racing for years by his knowledge he shares.I think our sponsors ought to love him because he mentions them more than once every night.I for one APPRECIATE YOU MIKE!!!...........Racin' Roger

Hey skoob, what is the problem with the announcer doing his job and telling the fans what's up? It is what he is paid to do, announce. As far as calling up the next class of driver's, do the fans know who is up next? We as driver's do know, but fans are more caught up in entertainment side of it, and not always the race order itself. Thanks Mike for the great job that you do. At least be thankful the announcer is keeping you, the fans (supporters) abreast of what is going on. Without fans , most notably maybe the ones new to the scene, it would be hard to call it entertainment. My family goes to watch not only me, but every race that is offered and announced. Thanks Mike for taking the time out of the show to talk to my children, and bring to light that they were there, to root me on, as well as my fellow racers. I think it is great to have an announcer who takes the time to show the fans that they are appreciated. I believe that without good people active in the sport, announcers included, we would not be able to call it a sport. And by calling it a sport, I mean you, skoob, should also be a sport and take the good with the bad, (be it your thought of bad).

Take it for it what it's worth,
Paul Butler #28B B-Mod
