LEXINGTON, KY -- After the 2006 season openers at Ponderosa Speedway were washed out last weekend, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts will now visit the track that closed out the 2005 season, Florence Speedway, for back-to-back shows this weekend.

Friday night, April 14th, the King Family's Florence Speedway will play host to the nation's most competitive regional racing series for the Spring 50 Tune-Up. A complete program for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series will feature Racing Optics Time Trials, Mason Racin' Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 30-lap 50 Tune-Up paying $3000 to win. The pit gates for this event will open at 4pm with the general admission gates opening at 5pm. Qualifying is slated to start at 7pm with Racing at 8pm. Adult General Admission is just $13 and kids ages 6-11 will be admitted for just $1 with a paying adult. Pit Admission is just $23.

Saturday night, April 15th, will be the Spring 50 for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series at Florence Speedway. Another complete program will be on tap with Racing Optics Time Trials, Mason Racin' Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $5000 to win Spring 50. Pit gates will once again open at 4pm with the general admission gates opening at 5pm. Qualifying on Saturday night will begin at 6:30pm with Racing at 7:30pm. Adult General Admission for the Spring 50 is just $15 with kids ages 6-11 being admitted for just $2. Pit Admission is just $27.

The excitement building for the upcoming weekend double-header at Florence Speedway is unparalleled as the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series comes off its most competitive season ever, in which the series saw an unprecedented 18 different winners in 20 different races. The exclamation point on the season was the logjam atop the points standings in which Tim Tungate, Mike Jewell, and Whitney McQueary were separated by less than 100 points heading into the final race of the 2005 season at Florence. The end result was a deadlock for the top spot in the standings with Jewell and Tungate being crowned Series Co-Champions. That same excitement and suspense is carrying over into 2006 as nation's most competitive and most exciting regional racing series begins another season of fierce competition this weekend at Florence.

Florence Speedway is a 1/2-mile, high-banked, clay oval located just south of Union, KY on US 42. For more information on Florence Speedway, visit their website at www.florencespeedway.com or call the track office at (859) 485-7591.
