O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Heads West to Paducah and Soggy Bottom

LEXINGTON, KY--The O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts heads west of Interstate 65 this upcoming weekend for a pair of sanctioned events.

On Friday Night, July 23 the series visits for the very first time the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY. It will be the furthest west in the Bluegrass State that Kentucky's Premier Dirt Late Model Sanctioning Body has been in the three year history of the touring series. The visit to the John Tindal promoted facility will see a complete show at the 3/8ths mile high banked clay oval with Racing Optics/Russell Baker Time Trials, Crown Spray Power Heat Races, O'Reilly Auto Parts B-Mains and the Lucas Oil A-Main paying $3000 to win. Paducah will play host to the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series’ 60th race date in its history.

Directions to Paducah International Raceway are as follows: Interstate 24 to exit 11, then south on Husband Road (St Rd 1954), then east of Lydon Road (St RD 3075), the south on Oaks (St Rd 450), then west on Shemwell Lane (near the airport). On Saturday Night, July 24 the series then heads back east from Paducah to visit for the second time this year the Soggy Bottom Speedway in Morgantown, KY.



Mack and Lesa Gabbard’s facility will be hosting their fourth ever O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass event. In the first three appearances at 3/8ths mile track there have been three different event winners with Johnny Wheeler, Aaron Hatton and last month's winner, Victor Lee all taking home the trophy. There will be a complete show for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Late Models at Soggy Bottom with Racing Optics/Russell Baker Time Trials, Crown Spray Power Heat Races, O'Reilly Auto Parts B-Mains and Lucas Oil A-Main paying $3000 to win.



In addition to the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series at Soggy Bottom Speedway will be a much anticipated return visit from the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series with a $1500 to win main event for the NARA sanctioned open wheel modifieds. The NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Modified event will feature a complete program for the modifieds consisting of Racing Optics Time Trials, Crown Spray Power Heat Races, O’Reilly Auto Parts B-Mains and the Lucas Oil A-Main. Aaron Hatton currently leads the race for the 2004 O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Championship over Tyrel Todd, Johnny Wheeler, Victor Lee and Brad Neat.



Kelly Warren stands atop the 2004 NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Title Chase with a points lead over Leonard Pierce, Timmy Payne, Brandon Green and Russell Childress.
