ARDMORE, Okla. (April 28) — It's been the talk of the towns from Oklahoma City to Dallas for several months, and this coming Friday and Saturday, May 2-3, the talk will stop but the mud-slinging will escalate as the rugged road warriors of the O’Reilly USMTS Southern Series make their long-awaiting debut at two of the most popular dirt tracks in Oklahoma and Texas.

On Friday night, May 2, the scene will be Ronny Gould's Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore, Okla. The 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval promises to be one of the best passing tracks on the O’Reilly USMTS Southern Series schedule. Don't be surprised at the amount of side-by-side, and even three-wide racing that you'll see this Friday night. Dozens of drivers have made it clear that they're all looking forward to this one!

Not to be outdone, Bo Rawdon's Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas, is arguably the most popular dirt track for Modified racing in the Lone Star State. And race fans, you're headed for some big numbers there this Saturday night and, more importantly, some great racing from the most talented wheelmen in the South.

Both shows get underway with pit gates opening at 4 p.m. and grandstands open for general admission seating starting at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 and the first green flag waves at 7 p.m.

Lake Country Speedway is a 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval located just off of I-35 at Exit 29, then 0.7 mile east on US 70, then 1.8 miles south on US 77. Also on the racing card will be Hobby Stocks and IMCA SportMods. For race day information, call 580-223-3044 or visit www.lakecountryspeedwayok.com online.

There will be a test tune session at Lake Country Speedway on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. Pit passes will be $15 and admission to the grandstands is free.

Cowtown Speedway is a quarter-mile high-banked clay oval located off of I-20 at Exit 442-A, then 1.7 miles southeast on Mansfield Hwy., then 1.4 miles southwest on New Hope Rd. Dwarf Cars, Limited Modifieds, Street Stocks and Bombers will also be running Saturday night. For day-of-race information, call 817-478-9952 or check out www.cowtownspeedway.com on the World Wide Web.

Both events will pay $2,000 to the winner.
