Overheating

I'm running World Products SR Torquer heads with Felpro gaskets. I don't think that the problem was ever fixed, even after having the heads decked and checked over. I guess the block deck could be warped, but something is building a lot of pressure in the cooling system and has been getting worse. The block is the only part of it that I have not messed with. Also, it feels like it is getting ready to lock up or something. I'll need to pull it apart to find out for sure. I was going to put a new engine together at some point and now would probably be the time to start working on it.

You guys ran really good at MCS Saturday. I was glad to see you guys get the heat race win. I'm hoping to be back out at some point this season.

i was gonna say in the beggining that it sounded like a cracked cylinder,we had the same symptoms one year and found a crack in the block..they always seem to crack in the water jacket area..also when you had the heads off how did the deck look?the reason i ask is between number 3 and 5 cylinder always likes to blow through when they get hot,may want to check that when it is apart..also it seems odd that their was no water in the oil or did not smoke..anywhoo good luck with gettin it all worked out..

World heads are good. I was going to say stock heads crack alot easier then aftermarket heads. We cracked our 461's in the intake port. We put alot of heat in that motor that night that it smoked. We used those steel head gaskets, and when we cleaned up the block deck with one of those little cleaning wheels it left enough of an impression that the steel head gasket wouldn't seal.

Yea the car was hooked up Sat. 1st in the heat, and gave ole Kneemiller a run in the feature. ended up 2nd.
