After a couple of cold and rainy Friday nights, Paducah International Raceway is gearing up for another weekend of hot racing action this Friday April 20th, 2007.

Back in Action will be the UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Cylinder Warriors, Outlaw Mini- Sprints, and the CARS Crate Late Models.

The last time all of the classes were in action on March 31st, Tanner English picked up the feature win on a last lap pass of PIR 2006 Harrah’s Metropolis Casino & Hotel Crate Late Model Champion Jeff Walston and veteran racer Snake Hobbs. The youngster driving in only his second year in the division proved early on that he would be a threat for the 2007 title.

In the Pepsi Modified division, last years division Champion Jeff Elliott will be back to try put his machine back in to victory lane trying to regain the lead in the point standings from Dustin Ladd. Justin Houston is in the 3rd spot with Dustin Ladd’s dad Steve in the 4th spot just 6 points back.

Spectator races will be the special event at PIR this week. Spectators will bring their vehicle on to the 1/5th mile oval for a one-lap heads up race with the winner advancing and the loser going home. The first eight people to register will compete. Spectators can register by calling 270-898-7469.

We are just 2 weeks away from Harrah’s Metropolis Casino & Hotel NASCAR Night I featuring the return of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and 2-Time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart to Paducah International Raceway. Plans continue to be made for the big event including an autograph session and much more. For reserved tickets call 270-898-7469. Plenty of good seats are still available.

NASCAR Stars Dale Earnhardt Jr, Ken Schrader and Promoter Bob Sargent purchased Paducah International Raceway in November of 2005. Two-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart joined the trio of Co-Owners as a partner in September of 2006. The 3/8th mile high banked oval will host several high profile events including three NASCAR Nights, The USA World 50, and the Tri-Track Challenge. Paducah International Raceway races every Friday night and is located off Interstate-24 at exit 11 in Paducah, Kentucky. For more information call the PIR hotline at 270-448-4PIR, the track at 270-898-SHOW (7469). Check out the PIR Website at www.paducahinternationalraceway.com or www.paducahracing.com.
