PCRA Crate Late Model Series returns in 2014 - Purchased by Kankakee County Speedway promoter Tom "Smitty" Smith, moves series primarily north, and adds Quick Car Racing Products as a Title sponsor.

A major development is in the works for the series formerly known as the PCRA (Pro Crate Racers of America) to resume series racing action throughout the Midwest under new ownership, direction, as well as a title sponsor. The series will still run under the PCRA banner for 2014, but be known as the Quick Car Dirt Late Model Series with Quick Car Racing Products serving as the new title sponsor.

2012 UMP Promoter of the Year Tom "Smitty" Smith, has finalized the purchase of the PCRA series from Deane and Mark Voigt. The series will mover primarily north to it's new home at Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois and a number of venues have already been signed for the upcoming 2014 season.

Among them is Plymouth Speedway in Northern Indiana tentatively schedule for Saturday, May 24th that will pit the stars and cars of the PCRA vs. Northern Indiana Late Model Series (NILMS).

I think over the course of the series I have seen shows at Farmington, Tri State, Clarksville, Paducah, and Poplar Bluff (probably leaving out a couple) and all of them were top notch events. Hate to see the series move but the Voigt's did a great job with it.
 
Sorry to hear that it is moving north as it was another series that the crates guys had to run with around here. Good luck to the new series. Hope some one schedules them around here.
