PCRA Opens Up 2013 Series March 2nd at the 9th annual Toilet Bowl in Clarksville , TN!

The PCRA springs into action with a historic event on the red clay quarter mile in Clarksville, TN. The Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic has been a signal of a new racing season for the heart of the country for 9 years and this year brings in the best crate racers in the Midwest with kick off to the 2013 PCRA crate late model series. The track will be slated to have a full weekend of racing with the PCRA getting involved in the action on Saturday March 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]. All series events will pay a minimum of $1000 to win and a $100 to start. The PCRA, or Pro Crate Racers of America, will be entering its third season as the country’s premier Crate Late Model touring series. Founder Mark Voigt is excited about its prospects and believes the 2013 season could be the PCRA’s best ever.
Bobby Dauderman will be attempting to reissue the brigade of butt whoopins that he laid out through the 2012 season on his way to his first PCRA championship. “The Undertaker” from Alhambra, IL racked up 7 victories on his way to the championship over Mark Oiler by 188 points. These standouts will have their hands full if they think they will be getting a “seat” in victory lane as they will be looking to go ahead with the heap of local standouts at the Clarksville speedway.
Stay tuned to the pcralatemodelseries.com for announcement of additional race as we continue to work with local track for more events. As always we encourage all competitors to contact series promoter Mark Voigt at 618-887-4706 with any questions or concerns.

money money money!!!!!!!

So tracks around the stl area are the only ones in the country that can't seem to pull off the $1000 to win purse that the pcra cars race for. Seems to me like the crate deal works well in the rest of racing world. Exhibit (A) fastrack. Exhibit(B) neismith. The purse we race for is no better than a regular night for open latemodels, and it isn't like there are full fields of them on a weekly basis.

Clay County Speedway will be running crates Opening night and the first Saturday of each month, with minimun of $750 to win and $100 to start and a few will pay the $1000 to win!
and if opening night is a big night for crates they just might run more, time will tell!

That's great news...could you post the full payout rundown for these shows. Also, will the purse be based on car count or guaranteed?

What sanction? Will there be any tech?

Thanks

The purse is more than $1000 as that is the winner's share. But that is not the problem. Belle Clair has been scheduling at least one a year for the past two years. First one was not a bad event, but last year's was cancelled due to weather related events.

Yeah I wasn't trying to imply that the entire purse was a$1000, but that the purse pays $1000 to the winner. I just can't figure out why local tracks won't support the series. Let's get a deal done with Belleville, I know it would be a good turn out. Lots of crate cars in this area. But the question still remains why won't the promoters get onboard and support this series. Most of the racers who run this series are local drivers who support the local promoters tracks on a weekly basis. Seems like a slap in the face to me.

Exactly, there are local drivers that follow this series and will travel hours to other tracks because the local tracks will not support it. Interestingly enough, the same tracks get upset because these same drivers dont support them when the series is not racing.

Then they should schedule some races and keep the the cars local. I think the class will continue growing as long as you keep the engines legal and catch the cheaters. Pcra is the only ones I've ran with that checks anything and sticks to the rules. If the class grows and prospers don't you think you'll start pulling cars from other areas into here for better payouts? Kill off pcra, kill off teching cars, and you'll kill off the class. Then there won't be a discussion about local cars not running at your track. Everyone keeps talking about how to make racing a little more affordable. Well here's a series that's trying to keep cars legal and can't get any support. If it wasn't for crate motors I'd still be sitting on the sidelines.
