Pepsi Nationals Now One Giant Night Sept. 18 at I-55 Raceway

Saturday night special a major event in World of Outlaws Late Model championship battle

PEVELY, MO - Aug. 13, 2010 - The Pepsi Nationals is traditionally a massive one-day Dirt Late Model event, and I-55 Raceway and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series are excited to carry on that tradition on Saturday, Sept. 18.

The star-studded, $10,000-to-win, 55-lap Pepsi Nationals will cap a night of time trials, heat races and Last Chance Showdowns on I-55 Raceway's exciting high-banked 1/3-mile oval. The event will play a major role in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship battle, with less than 50 points separating Josh Richards, Darrell Lanigan and Tim McCreadie.

In addition, the exciting DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, DIRTcar UMP Sportsman and DIRTcar Pro-4 classes will all be featured, making for a huge night of action.

The event was originally scheduled to kick off on Friday, Sept. 17, but with weekday congestion and traffic issues from on-going road construction associated with the widening of Interstate 55, it's almost impossible for fans and teams to arrive in a timely manner on a week night, especially the local and regional competitors. To ensure everybody has a memorable event, officials determined it would be best to consolidate the entire program on Saturday, Sept. 18.

For tickets to this big night, order online at www.worldofoutlaws.com/tickets or call the World of Outlaws at 704-795-7223 or I-55 Raceway at 636-479-3219. Reserved seats are only $30 in advance and $32 on Sept. 18. General admission is $28 in advance and $30 on Sept. 18. If you're going to the pits, pit passes are $35 for DIRTcar Members and $40 for non-members. To join DIRTcar, sign up at http://www.dirtcarmembers.com.

Plus, for a special event promotion from Pepsi to be announced soon, make sure to keep an eye on www.worldofoutlaws.com and www.i55raceway.com.

So road construction is the reason for this????Seems kinda fishy to me.

I guess my first question is was it that bad for the Ironman 55 and second instead on canceling a night start off a half hour later or more. Most of the people going to a multi night show are gonna camp and or find a hotel and the next day is Sat which would leave me to believe most people wouldn't have to get up and work Sat. And if traffic is there worry then send out a email with alternate route directions.Just seems like we are not getting whole story.

thats, why i have stayed away from this track for 3 years bad traffic. or what ever other stupid reason they can come up with to cancel a show after you travel all the way there.

it wasn't a prob last weekend for the world of outlaw sprint cars oh yeah that's right there speaical same old song and dance and 30 dollors for gen. admission know for a 10,000 to win show know that's a joke but is what it is know were not gonna change there stupid decion they have made

I made it to I-55 from Imperial, Mo (which is before the construction) in 20 minutes last Saturday night for the Ironman 55 show. Traffic can be a bear on Friday nights, but has not been at all to my knowledge of Saturday nights

how can they have big crowd last weekend for the sprints and car count terrible but change the latr models 2 day with 3 or 5 classes I don't get it

Kevin paid I-55 off so he can have the Friday night....LOL!!!

But to tell you the truth, I can care less about a 2 day show. The second day is always better...

I like I-55 but they are always changing things or cancelling shows at the last minute. And now because of construction...come on!!! Fans and drivers will get there one way or another... They just need to admit that they can not handle a 2 day show...ever. We will all understand...

Don't bet against it! But they will cater to the World of @ss hole sprint cars. Can you say OVERRATED???

Thats what I was wondering, I thought it was supposed to be $20,000 to win? And now we have to pay $30 for the stands? And $40 for the pits. I might have to stay home, my trip to Eldora the week before will almost be cheaper.

Wow is all I can say. What a joke of a reason to not have a two day show. I don't buy there reason at all. I think I will be staying home from this race there is no way I'm paying $30 for a $10,000 to win show. I know I will get bashed for what I'm about to say but oh well. I hope a lot of people stay home.

wow!! since they downsized this race what happens to the ppl that already bought there 2 day tickets? I'm glad i didn't buy mine. that is a shame using the reason as traffic and road construction its everywhere now days. lol
