Picou Makes First Visit To LebanonMidway A Winning Visit In Mod Main

Lebanon,Mo.-With over 96 race teams in the pits Friday Night on Tim Parsons AutoSales Night action was a plentiful on the Midway.

First,the Superstocks rolled on the tacky track with Nathan Gold grabbing the opening lead with points leader Tony Jackson,Jr tucking in behind him with Jody Saultz and JC Newell close behind.Gold was setting a fast pace as Jckson was settling into second.A quick yellow for Mark Treadway closed up the field on lap 11 as JC Newell ducked into the pits with a flat tire.On the restart,Jackson looked to the inside of the leader Gold and challanged for the lead as last weeks winner Donnie Gennings was moving up along Jody Saultz battling for third.On lap 13,Jackson shot to the inside going into turn 1 and moved around to take the lead and held off a late move by Gold to capture the win followed by Gold,Gennings,Saultz and Randy Hill.Gold would have problems in tech giving-up second place.

The Mighty Modifieds found another star-studded field as Eric Hudson jumped to the early lead with St Louis area driver Steve Picou,Steve Muilenburg,Jason Russell battling.Brian Brown brought out an early yellow bunching the field up on lap 2.Back in the pack forward progess was being seen as Chris Prussman,Wayne Graybeal,and point leader Jamie Ragland were moving forward after starting in the field deep.
On lap 4,Hudson would suffer a flat tire as Picou moved into the top spot as Tony Jackson Jr was moving forward into the top 5.Lap 9 would find a fast moving Chris Prussman lose a driveshaft as Andy Claiborne and top 5 runner Ken Dickinson pulled into the pits with problems.Steve Muilenburg also suffered problems ending his night while running second.Picou would continue to lead and captured his first win followed by Jackson,Jason Russell,point leader Ragland, and James Hartman in the top 5.
Winged Sprint action would find point leader Eric Todd pull ahead of pole setter Scott Wedelstadt going into turn 3 on the opening lap and run away from the field.Lap 5 would see J.Kinder and Chad Johnson get together in turn 2 bunching the field-up with Johnson's top 5 run ending in the infield.On the restart,Eric todd again pulled away as Kinder and John Rowland battled for second as last weeks winner Clint Todd was moving forward.After holding a half lap lead,Eric Todd battled lapped traffic as Kinder was closing quickly.Todds lead went down to 12 cars lengths,but withstood the late charge in grabbing the win followed quickly by Kinder,Rowland,Clint Todd and Steve Lawrence at the stripe.
A wild FactoryStock feature would see Paul Snyder jump to the early lead with Travis Hill,Bobby Ratterree,and Todd Cook battling.Matt Pilant began his charge and took the lead on lap 3 as last weeks winner Tim Brown was coming forward after starting 11th.Leader Pilant retired on lap 9 moving Cook into the lead as Snyder and Tim Brown battled for second.The yellow waved for debris on lap 10 as Brown pulled into the pits and returned back in the field.With Cook in the lead,Ratterree,Snyder,point leader Randy Berry with Brown moving forward quickly.Cook pulled away grabbing his second win of the season followed by a fast moving Brown,Snyder,Ratterree and Berry at the stripe.
The Bomber feature provided fireworks as Tyler Brown and Missy Shaw brought the field down as Brown grabbed the early lead only to spin in turn 1.Restarting the field,Bill Schoen grabbed the early lead with Robert White right on his bumper.On lap 3,White and Schoen made contact in turn 3 taking both cars out and sending them to the rear.From there,Tyler Schoen pulled up on White during the caution and bumped into him,White spun around and returned the bump as officials quickly sent both cars out for the remaining of the feature.Point leader Mike Piercey retired with problems and points runner-up Dale Rodden suffered problems sending him to the pits.On the restart,Missy Shaw brought the field down to the green as Bill Roberts stayed close behind.Roberts would move around Shaw on lap 5 and grab his second win of the season.Roberts driving a borrowed car from his dad after destroying his last week pulled away as the battle for second involved Shaw,Aaron York,Jack Hamer and a fast moving Tyler Brown.With Roberts alone,York would move around Shaw to claim runner-up spot with Shaw,Brown, and Bill Schoen in the top 5.
Bobby Moore grabbed the lead on the start and never looked back in grabbing his first Mini-stock feature win of the season.Tony Moore,Chuck Kidwell,Bryan Deatherage,and Ike Moore all battled hard for second before following the winner to the flags.
Over 24 ladies signed-in for the Powderpuff Event breaking it into 4 heats with each heat winner going to the finals in an exciting 5 lap dash to claim the winner as Juanita Sperry took advantage of her front row starting spot and pulled away for the win.Kelly Newell(Camdenton),Lisa Salutz(Camdenton), and Trena Todd(Falcon) followed.
Next weekend will see a Midway Double-header as Friday Night will feature a regular show with all 6 classes and then on Sat Night the Speedway will host a 100 lap Enduro with a 2500 purse to be divided as cars wil line-up as they check in Sat Night. Also the Fastrack LateModels from St Louis will be making there first apperance.Racing also in the Bombers and FactoryStocks on Sat Night with extra money and bonus points up for grabs.
