Bielong's Car Is Awesome

Wow! I really like Brian's car even though it still has the pink! I think it has plenty of more colors than it usually does. It stands out and I guess that's why he won two awards for his car at both pap wheelies and the lions club for the car show. I hope he has a great year and tries to change that pink to maybe that metallic blue on his frame. Lol. Good Luck Brian! Also, this year keep your pit crew on leashes especially Willy! Love you guys!

Is the 29 car a sportsman or a bomber? The body looks like it was fabricated and not stock panels and the roof looks too low.

yeah khris's car looks good too... looks like he's done plenty of work on it! hopefully he does a good job racing it this year!

Rules

According to the rules , the 29 car looks illegal.Im sure they will still let him race though. There are alot of 383 strokers up there to, and highland has no way of checking them. The only way you are gonna win up there is build a 383 or bigger with ported heads, since they dont check that either. All as they check is carb, and head casting numbers.I think its visible stock with the way they tech.Belleville checks ci carb cam etc.Highland is pretty much open.

You don't have to have a big motor to run good at Highland. Big Tim Haeffner ran at Belle-Vegas all year & Highland, he was legal at both tracks, & he won a lot of features. The one time I ran Highland last year, I finished 7th, with a small 350 & the motor was missing the entire night.

They say they are gonna check them every year for ci, but they dont have any way to check them at highland .Did they check Tims ci at belleville?..., because at highland they have no way to.

P&G method doesn't require any special tools..

Measurement Method #1: using oil volume: (P&G method)
- Mandatory on engines susceptible to this type measurement as the first check on the displacement of an engine. If there is doubt, a tear down must be
made. Remove the spark plug, turn the engine to top dead center, and fill the engine with oil through the spark plug hole to overflowing. Fill a measured container with the correct amount of oil for the engine when set to bottom dead center.
d.) Measurement Method #2: using calipers and hand tools
- In order to find the displacement of a cylinder:
- 1.) Measure to bore (cm)
- 2.) Divide the bore by 2 to get the radius
- 3.) Square the answer to (2) and multiply by 3.14(pi)
- 4.) Multiply the answer from (3) by the engine stroke (in cm).
- The final product is the cylinder displacement
- For single cylinder engines, this number (4) must be less than or equal to the max engine displacement value.
- For multiple cylinder engines, multiply (4) by the number of cylinders. This value must be less than or equal to the max engine displacement.

According to highlands 2005 rules, it says all cars must appear stock( i assume that means no fabbed quarters, trunk fenders door skins etc.It says u you can only cover headlite openings, so i assume no plastic noses.Again, it doesnt matter to me, i just thought that your car was in the sportsman class .Not trying to upset you. What kind of quarters and trunk do you have on that thing. It looks neat, although not stock looking.

i think the car looks great.....and it looks like a bomber to me.....a very nice one at that.....hey railrocket don't look so deep into the rules. Alot of people do that not knowing exactly everything that is allowed or taken for granted and automatically assume they are illegal. Alot of rule books are unclear or worded to make some think different than what they really mean. So it is partially the way they write the rules. J/M/O

Tom

Yes, Tim was P&G'd at least once at Belle-Vegas & found legal.
I am pretty sure most of the bombers around the area have plastic noses and fabricated bodies that are stock appearing.

STOCK hood, roof, and roof posts. Steel fenders, doors, and quarters. all stock appearing. i think it would be hard to single out fabricated bodies from stock bodies, because everyone that bought theirs form Performance Bodies would have fabricated doors and quarters. thanks for the compliments.
