Paducah, KY.) Opening day and new Fan friendly race procedures are just 3 days away at Paducah International Raceway.

Paducah International Raceway owners Dale Earnhardt Jr., Ken Schrader and Bob Sargent are pleased to announce that the admission prices for the 2006 weekly shows has been reduced to $10 dollars with kids 12 and under receiving FREE admission.

PIR will implement a passing points system for the 2006 season. Passing Points is a system that is widely used throughout the country allowing drivers to race their way from their heat race starting position collecting points for every car they pass. These points are then converted into the starting field for the feature. The bottom line is door to door racing action during the heat races to entertain the fans. The top six drivers in passing points will then advance to the C-Plant Federal Credit Union dash which will set the main event starting order.

The UMP Late Models will be racing for the top prize of $1000 Dollars to the feature winner with competitors receiving $125 dollars to start the 25 Lap Main Event.

The UMP Modifieds will use the same procedure including the C-Plant Federal Credit Union dash to determine who will start up front as they race for the $500 Dollar top prize. Competitors will receive $50 dollars to start the Feature Event.

PIR is pleased to announce that they will be running the C.A.R.S. Crate Late Models division. This division is designed to keep the cost of racing down for the competitors and provide exciting bumper to bumper racing action for the fans. The $400 Dollar to win 15-lap feature will have the fans sitting on the edge of their seats.

The new 1/5th mile track at PIR will host Outlaw Mini-Sprints and the always-exciting 4 cylinder Warriors. The new track is lined by guardrail to keep the winged Mini-Sprints on the track.

The ever-popular street stock division has been sanctioned by UMP this season. This group of drivers will be racing for $150 to win and $25 to start their 12-lap feature.

Paducah International Raceway is a high-banked 3/8th mile dirt oval that is deep in tradition being the home to the Wayne Coakley/ Bob Memmer USA World 50 and the TRI-TRACK Challenge.
