PIR announces point fund and contigencies

Paducah International Raceway is proud to announce many driver benefits for the 2006 season including a guaranteed point fund for all divisions.

(Paducah, KY. March 22, 2006) Paducah International Raceway is pleased to announce many aggressive driver oriented programs that will begin this Friday night March 24th and will last all season long with a guaranteed point fund culminating with an elegant awards banquet to be held at Harrah’s Metropolis Casino & Hotel. Points for PIR will start this Friday Night with the season opener and will continue throughout the entire season that will see drivers rewarded for racing each and every week earning valuable track points. More details on the guaranteed point fund will be announced on May 1st, 2006.

Paducah International Raceway is pleased to announce that C-Plant Federal Credit Union based in Paducah, Kentucky has signed on as a major corporate sponsor. C-Plant FCU will sponsor the nine-car C-Plant FCU dash. The C-Plant FCU dash will be held for the UMP Late Model and Modified Divisions with the winners of the dashes throughout the season qualifying for the year end C-Plant FCU dash for cash.

PIR will have many product giveaways this year including but not limited to a new CJ Rayburn Chassis for the 2006 PIR UMP Late Model Champion. CJ Rayburn has had several Track, State and National Champions drive his chassis to victory throughout the years. PIR will also present the PIR UMP Modified champion for 2006 with a brand new Pierce Modified Chassis. Bob Pierce has been on the cutting edge of technology in Modified Racing and has had several Championships to his credit as a chassis builder. Weir Chevrolet of Red Bud, IL will present the CARS Crate Late Model Champion with a new Chevrolet 602 Crate Late Model power plant. Valued at over $4000, this award to the Crate Late Model Champion should excite the fans and inspire the racers. Hoosier Tires widely known as the leading tire manufacturer for dirt track racing will also donate a set of tires to the UMP Street Stock Division. Once again, the driver’s point fund at PIR is being resurrected with guaranteed dollar amount plus exciting contingency awards.

One of our biggest announcements to date, Paducah International Raceway is proud to be one of only 60 tracks in the nation to have the prestigious Contingency Connection national contingency program for our racers in 2006. Over 100 tracks applied to participate in the program but Paducah International Raceway was chosen because of the importance we place on our weekly racing program. The Contingency Connection is a contingency program ran EXCLUSIVELY at 60 tracks nationwide. Contingency awards will be awarded to Forty (40) racers throughout the season!
As a Contingency Connection track, PIR will give to its’ drivers a minimum of $50,000 in contingency awards, coupons and prizes with a $5000 sponsorship to one of our 2006 track champions.

Paducah International Raceway is a high-banked 3/8th mile dirt oval that is deep in tradition being the home to the Wayne Coakley/ Bob Memmer USA World 50 and the TRI-TRACK Challenge.
