Paducah International Raceway will have its 5 divisions of UMP Sanctioned race cars taking to the 3/8 mile high bank dirt oval on Friday August 14th. The UMP Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Street Stocks and the 4 Cylinder Warriors will all be in action on Friday night. The Pit area will open at 4:00pm, grandstands at 5:00pm, hot laps at 6:30pm and the racing action will start at 7:00pm.
Racing action at Paducah International Raceway last week tightened up the points in several of the divisions. Jeff Walston from Paducah, Ky. will try to close in on the 40 point gap even more on the Benton, IL. resident Kevin Cole in the UMP Late Models. Todd Miller from Paducah Ky. Who is last years Points Champion is holding on to a sizeable lead in the UMP Modified division over Hazel Kentucky’s Justin Houston and Clayton Miller who are tied for second down 128 points to Miller. Tait Davenport from Paducah Ky. is working on securing his second straight track point title along with his second National Title for the UMP Pro Late Models. Davenport will have to watch out for Ledbetter Kentucky’s Adam Ray who is 56 points away and making his charge for the point lead. Stacy Tretter has J R Mason all over his once sizable lead. Mason has cut into Tretter's lead and trails by just 2 points in the UMP Street Stock division. Jake Mayo from Paducah Ky. added to his lead in the UMP 4 Cylinder Warrior class. Hunter Lyles from Calvert City Ky is 22 points out of first Lyles is chasing but does he have enough races left to catch Mayo.
