Im sure you arnt going to have to many people that want to race for no money. If you have to pay to get in, most people want a chance to make money back.

I understand that....I don't know what the pay out is from 1st to 10th, but if you know you don't have a top 10 car and you are going to geet 25 buks back, then why worry about points and making money. I think everyone in the class knows who is really runnihng for points and wants to try to run for points, and thats ok, but I think the rest just want to go and have fun and race their car. I thought this was suposed to be a hobby class and race for fun, but the way it is going, everyone worried about "points" and "making money", it is starting not to be that much fun anymore. I hope Scott can bring the fun back to this class.

I hope Scott can bring the fun back to this class.

I think that is what he is trying to do. But in order to do that you have please a majority of the people.

I race for fun but also race for points and a little cash for my efforts are nothing but a plus.

Points are part of the fun of racing. You want to be the best driver, it's the whole point of why we're "racing". There is a rather substantial payout for the top ten in points. It's well over a grand for first. How can you tell me that it is at all fair that someone can get 16th place every week and get a championship?
Split features takes competition out of the picture

The only reason there is any debate over this is because a few people are complaining because they can't keep up with the crowd. If your not making the features every week then perhaps you should try different lines on the track or different tires. You actually have to work with your car to get it up front.

You know what I am done trying even arguee this. I am up for whatever Scott wants to do. I will go race have fun and do what I gotta do.

It seems just like in a lot of things no one wants to change. Change is substantial part of buisness and life. If we don't try to change things then nothing gets better. All I know is I was never a person to complain on how this was done. I just had some thoughts and ideas on how I felt this could help.

Sorry if I seem iritated over this but I am an outside the box type person and always look at ways to make things better. But if we go back to the old way of doing things, I am still going to show up and race my race. :(

2 birds with...

How about this. Keep it the way it was last Saturday night with these exceptions. Top 15 go directly to A main as before. adjust the points from the B main so that the winner gets 16th place points and so on. Give the top 3 finishers in the B main the option to transfer to the A main. This will return the consi aspect to drivers who are concerned about championship points and level of competition without making the B main a cut-throat crash fest to get into the A like in the past. If any of those top 3 finishers from the B choose to transfer, then they forfeit the money and/or trophy to the next car in line that does not transfer and so on. This will eliminate sand-bagging, and allow guys who get in trouble in the heat a shot to get in the A, and yet still provide the newer guys a shot to win a race. The money could be adjusted for the B main to keep guys from doggin it just to pocket the hundred bucks. Maybe make it $50 to win or something?

Sounds good….Anyone else have any suggestions or concerns with this option?

I like it. Still gives the sence of winning something and an option. Still allows more then 10 points and drivers would at least get their entry fee back.

I see it as a win win for everyone. :D

There is a big problem with having a rookie class and a experinced class. As a fan i like the two a main feature setup like they did last week. These cars are so close its very easy not to make the show that only has 1 a main. The car counts are so hi so lets reward every racer.Lets say a a guy like matt hamblin gets spun and gets a flat tire in heat he has to run the consi from the back. There is a good chance with as many cars show up he probly wont make a main. but with the two feature setup he has a chance to still make some very helpful points in points chase. When push comes to shove the fast guys will be toghther and the slow guys will be toghther so lets run it like he did last week a few weeks more.plus it will make for one hell of a points battle.everyone will have to be on there a game every nite.jmo

keep it simple

I say run it like last Saturday and if you want to stop sand bagging simply make the A main set the standard for points. If you have a 16 car A main feature then give everyone in the B main the same points, but less points than last place in the A main, (say 1 or 2 points for all B main cars) and pay everyone the same minimum payout in the B main feature (say $25.00 to everybody). That way the B main is really just a race for the trophy (and bragging rights) and someone racing for points will have no incentive to sandbag and everyone gets to race and still gets a payout and a couple points. The faster guys that had a bad night and didn't make the A main would still get $25.00 and a couple points too. This would beat the heck out of going home early and the slower guys get a chance at that first feature win too.

What to say about Mr. Woodcock?

...quality post by yet another big man who hides behind his (...her?) ...yes definately her...screenname. If your not man enough to put it out there with a name ...or better yet say it to someones face, then don't say it at all. Go ahead and say all the stupid stuff you want, but don't be a sally about it. You are a loser, a coward, and you belong lumped in with all the other arm chair wannabes that run there mouths on here constantly (see: twistedracer). Where did you finish last weekend, or last year, or ever?

They don't give out trophys to nameless, faceless people.

Loser.
Aaron your an idiot sittin here tryin to stick up for something you have no clue about. If you were half as good as your car is you might be able to win more features, Goes to show ya that its just not the car because ryan was stomping everyone out with that same car and you cant even finish top 5 most weekends. I follow racing really close to see who can and can't drive and i don't even have to say what category you fall in. You need to stick to teaching and give up racing because your plan and simple not good at it. How many races have you won this year better yet last year even maybe one and you got lucky in that race because ryan was takin out and you had noone else that could keep up with your CAR not you. Heck you should stick Krusty in the car he probably would do better. Anyway best of luck on running the B mains the rest of your career.:eek:;):p

Here is the deal. We dont need this a feature b feature bull. B feature means consi, lets not sugar coat it. Which mean 1 your having a bad night, been there done that. 2 you ****, been there done that. 3 You just dont have the car to win. In that case you shouldnt be at the track in the first place. If I had to go to the races every week knowing that I didnt have a shot at winning, I wouldnt go. You rookies and guys that arent that experienced yet give it time. I spent my first couple years fighting the car and myself. Thats just the way it goes. The only way I ever got highland speedway figured out was by following Robby Eilers, Rob Shaw, Arron heiman, and all the front runners that had a couple years on me. I believe we keep the Feature Consi setup we have been running for the last 6 or 7 years the same.

"Hornets' and "Career" don't belong in the same conversation.

...put down the hash pipe.

hey guys and girl. I just started, I drive the 28,although I dont agree with all the trash talk from #2 ,he has it figured out. It just needs to go into affect.we have such a high car count that the guys in the back may want to challenge for somthing besides 10 points. Its U.M.P. rules so we cant just change them.

I wasn't talking trash to anyone? I was calling out the other trash talkers on here who hide behind a screenname. As for my suggestion about the format at Highland, noone spoke a word of it. I'm not racing for points so I didn't bother bringing it up at the drivers meeting.

thats true but, ive seen some of your posts u can be pretty brutal.you have a great plan to deal with the abundance of cars.i dont know u thats just my opinion.srry bout the comment. I wonder when the car count will fade.

mount vernon is not opening so u will have alot more cars now . so they do need to set up a b main .

OH! thats right.. So now does that mean we'll have 40 or 50 cars compared to 31 or so?? If thats the case how bout 2 features, 20 cars or so apiece?
And go with Woods idea.. of B mains' first place as 16th or so in points and $50 or better to win. This is my first year and whatever anyone else says, I don't want to drive dirty or rough just to gain ground with top 3 only that advances. I'd rather get to run my races and have a good time competing as compared to a (crashfest) as I heard earlier to TRY to PLOW through people. I'm not expecting a win anytime soon, but would like to not have to fix the car EVERY weekend.:( Like I said... I'm new so my opinion dont mean anything. but... WE are the largest class and should be treated like it. If it wasn't for the 30+ drivers EVERY weekend, this wouldn't be an issue!!! No other class can claim numbers like that!!:DJ>M>O!;)
