Poplar Bluff Speedway flood pic

my son and i were here for s/n race last year took some repel(we knew about the skeeters/vultures) people were giving him $ to spray them down.

Im also going to disagree with John, because Poplar Bluff Speedway is one of the best race tracks around when it comes to track conditions. It was always very smooth with multiple racing grooves, and very rarley was it ever rough like some other tracks around here. Poplar Bluff only has 6 classes: Crate Late Models, Mods, Super Street, Pure Street, Modlites, and Cruisers. Most tracks today have 5 classes so its nothing unusual. Having raced there for the past 2 years on a weekly basis, I am disapointed that they will probably not be racing this year, but ever since they got rid of the super late models things just went downhill from there. However, I will agree that on some nights the mosquitoes were pretty bad.

In the photo it looks like they are doing some building? It that true or dose the track realy look that good? Hard to tell since 1/2 of it is under water.

Pretty much everything that I see in that picture has been there for at least a couple of years. Since the last time I was there in late 2006. The side of the track closest to the church is the front stretch. The larger building in the back is the scoring tower. Don't look to me like they're working on anything currently. Just most of the facilities are so new that it may look that way.
