POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- (June 30, 2006) Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill. captured the $10,000 first place prize Friday night in the UMP Summernational late model event at the Poplar Bluff Speedway.
Second in the feature was Jimmy Mars, with Darren Miller third, Wendall Wallace fourth and Terry Phillips fifth. They were followed by Dennis Erb, Rodney Melvin, Billy Drake, Steve Rushin and Kevin Weaver. Jeff Floyd was the winner of the "B" main with Troy Hudson second and Billy Moyer Jr. third.
Scott Weber of Festus, Mo. won the Modified class feature with Billy Smith second, Robert Powers third, Jason Hughes fourth and Josh Hughes fifth. They were followed by Tim Radford, Jeremy Conner, George Charles, Brent Thompson and Larry Hull.
In the Super Street feature Kyle Berry was the winner with Doug Moore second, Greg Sparks third, Scott Tracer fourth and Jerry Buck fifth. They were followed by Jamie Robards, Claudie Cook, Jeff Beeson, Aaron Bell, and Paul Reeder.
In the Dwarf/Modlite feature, John Leahy was the winner with Ryan Poyner second, Ron Wick third, Mike Zaricor fourth and Lester Bradshaw fifth. They were followed by Pam Sheppard, Ronnie Byassee, Jonathan Hall, David Huffman and Bobby Black.
In the Pure Street feature it was Jeff Beeson taking the checkered flag with Kyle Berry second, Mark Todd third, Michael Lack fourth and Keith Cain fifth. They were followed by Whitney Nunally, Barry Daniels, Steve Carter, Brydon Anders and Rob Lee.
In the Crusier feature the team of Austin/Merritt was the winner with Brown/Brown second, Felps/Janes third, Retherford/Reece fourth and Leach/Leach fifth. They were followed by Stephens/Stephens, Hanley/Hanley, Harbrueger/Wayne, R. Prince/L. Prince, and Prince/Prince.
This Friday night at the Poplar Bluff Speedway the Hot Farm Truck and Tractor Pull will be held and then on Saturday night all regular classes will be racing along with the "Mechanic's Race."
