Possibly looking for (2) drivers!

Shaw18 Racing

St. Jacob Glass
With the announcement of the reopening of Fayette Co. Speedway I have decided to run there full time in 2010. But with so many tracks running on Friday nights I fear the 4-cyl counts may be down at one or more of the facilities. So I'm tossing around the idea of possibly putting drivers in two of my cars; one at Tri-City and one Belle Clair. There would be an up front fee possibly around $500 to assure me that the person was serious and driver must be able to store, tow, and do all maintenance on the car. Driver would also be required to attend at least 75% of the races at their track and all winnings would go to me as the car owner. I am looking for persons who do not currently own a race car and have some type of racing history ether their own or in the family. If you or anyone you know would be interested in a top car to race for the 2010 race season you can e-mail me a resume with contact info, past accomplishments, and anything else you think would be helpful to this race team.

driver

i have never raced but but my gradfather has and i have a work on a sprint car team with my father only 16 racing is in my blood wish to start in a low class like this then go on but i got to do this now

?

so someone pays you 500 up front. who pays for maint., pit passes and repairs and other expense since the owner gets all winnings.

I don't see how this is a deal for a potential driver? If the driver had to pay his way in, and the costs associated with racing (pit pass, gas, parts) one would be better off just buying a race ready car.

i think its one of the best deals i have seen on here.

he has alot of experience to go with a capable car.i think the $500 is just incase it comes back trashed.

Hiring a driver

I agree this does not sound like a good deal. If I give you 500 and I pay all expenses. What would I get out of it but out of pocket expense on your car.
Come on Rob I know you have to know you are trying to stick it to us on this deal. I can buy 1 or 2 cars myself and do the same thing and come out smelling like a rose.

I cant do a full time thing, but you can call me on a moments notice if you need a driver in a pinch. I would love to see just how fast a stock saturn is. lol. good luck this year Rob.

I paid $700 for my first car and spent another $500 to get it going. I knew nothing about nothing when it came to racing and this car couldn’t get out of its own way. Mid season that same year I built a new car for around $1000 and had a lot of ups and downs trying to learn everything. Again that same year; I totaled the new car (weak rear hub) and then bought a roller with cage for $1000 to put my engine and trans in. That’s over $3000 in my first year! It has taken a long time to build up knowledge in this class but I enjoy sharing it to save others. I knew when posting this, people would think it wasn’t worth it….. But I also know a lot of others will look past the all mighty dollar and think this could be a great opportunity. Anyone who drives my cars will be in a champion caliber car with all my help and knowledge. If you don’t want that then don’t reply to this post.
