Power-packed four-race weekend on tap for USMTS drivers and fans

LA MONTE, Mo. (March 30) – The USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour is revving up for a four-night swing through Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas this weekend, along with the USMTS Southern Series sandwiched in between.

A take home pay of $9,000 is up for grabs for any driver lucky and skilled enough to sweep the weekend's events.

All four blockbuster events will be worth valuable points in the Bear Tire Mo-Kan Region of the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour. A power-packed field of cars are expected as the two-day show at West Siloam will also be a points contest for the West Region of the USMTS Southern Series.

THURSDAY, APRIL 2
LA RACEWAY, LA MONTE, MO
The mud starts flying this Thursday, April 2, as the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour invades the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo., for the third straight year. The Sunoco "A" Main will pay the winner $2,000, with a minimum $250 to start the main event.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m., grandstand gates open at 4, hot laps start at 6:30 and the first heat race is at 7 p.m. Local Street Stocks will also be racing.
Past winners at LA Raceway include eight-time USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Champion Kelly Shryock (2008) and Jeremy Payne (2007).

FRIDAY-SATURDAY, APRIL 3-4
WEST SILOAM SPEEDWAY, WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, OK
On Friday and Saturday, April 3-4, the West Siloam Speedway in West Siloam Springs, Okla., will play host to both the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour and the USMTS Southern Series in the 3rd Annual Red River Modified Nationals—the only double-dip for both series in 2009.

Friday's main event winner will pocket $2,000 and $3,000 is earmarked for Saturday's victor. Steve Holzkamper of Gentry, Ark., captured last year's Saturday night finale while 2007 USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Champion Jason Krohn of Slayton, Minn., won the Friday night go. In 2007, it was Hinton, Iowa's Jay Noteboom taking the finale while Kelly Shryock won the opener on Friday night.

On Friday, pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstand gates open at 5, hot laps are slated to begin at 6:30 and racing starts at 7 p.m. On Saturday, pit gates open at 3 p.m., grandstands open at 4, hot laps are at 6 and the mud starts flying at 6:30 p.m.

THUNDERHILL SPEEDWAY, MAYETTA, KS
On Sunday, April 5, the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour visits the Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan., for the thirteenth time in seven years for the 7th Annual Kansas Spring Fling.

Kelly Shryock is the only multi-time winner at Thunderhill, with six career victories at the lighting-fast speedplant including last year's "show in the snow." Other past winners at the facility include Jon Tesch (2007), Greg Skaggs (2007), Dean Mahlstedt (2006), Mark Noble (2006), Tommy Myer (2003) and Dustin Boney (2003).

Pit gates open at 2 p.m., grandstands open at 4, hot laps begin at 5 and the racing action gets underway at 5:30 p.m. USRA Stock Cars and USRA B-Mods are also on the racing card.
