Millstadt, IL – The POWRi National Midgets and the POWRi/Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprints return to action this Friday at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and Saturday at Highland Speedway in Highland, IL. Friday’s event will be the “Kevin Doty Classic” event at the super fast 3/8 mile oval at Tri-City near Granite City, IL. This event will be co-sanctioned with the USAC National Midget Series and will also feature non-wing sprint cars. Saturday night will be a straight POWRi midget and Outlaw Micro Sprint event at the ¼ mile speed plant in downtown Highland. 2007 POWRi National Midget Champion, Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, MO holds an early lead in the race to the championship over POWRi young gun, Austin Brown of Millstadt, IL. Brown has finished in the top five in all but one event so far this year. Defending POWRi Midget Champ, Brad Kuhn of Avon, IN rounds out the top three heading into the weekend. Kuhn swept the two night “Chad McDaniel Memorial” event last weekend.
Andrew Felker of Carl Junction, MO takes a slim lead in the POWRi/Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint Series heading into this weekend over Jeremy Camp of Blue Mound, IL. Felker and Camp both have victories early this season and are the early favorites in the race to the championship. Brandon Graybeal of Leroy, IL rounds out the top three after a big win at the “Chad McDaniel Memorial” at the Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, KS.
