Prayer Request

Asking for prayers tonight as a distant relative on my moms side from Pocahontas, IL, was killed today on I-64 as he was working construction near Fairview Heights. PLEASE slow down in construction zones, stay off your cell phones and report any unsafe driving as these are people just like you and I who want to go home at the end of the day to be with their families too. Dennis leaves behind a wife and 3 small children. Also seriously injured were 3 fellow workers one of which I went to school with. Please keep these families in ur thoughts and may God heal the surviving workers!

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family... People dont realize how unsafe it is in these zones!!! Please slow down and make it safe for all in these work zones!!!!!!

I knew Dennis well, and am just heartbroken to hear about this.
My deepest sympathies go out to all of the Beards.
Dennis was a great man. Talked to him a few weeks ago with his Kids at Highland races.
Thinking about Kory too. Get better bud.

did he race a sportsman car at highland
Lenny, I don't ever remember Dennis racing but his brother Butch raced at Highland around the late 70's/early 80's. In recent years, Danny Beard Jr. has raced at Highland. He is a cousin to Dennis. When I first got involved in racing, Dennis pitted for Butch Kuhn. Dennis' nephew, Cory Links, was one of the others that was hurt. I just saw Dennis Saturday night at Highland. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the others injured in the accident.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Dennis' whole family. He was a great guy and will be missed.

Hopefully the media coverage of this tragedy will get some people to open their eyes and be more careful in construction zones.

Prayers go out to all involved. I work on the road everyday and see some really stupid/scary crap. Slowing down really doesn't cost you significant time. Remember you are operating a motor vehicle, This should be your only focus.

Yea, another idiot on the roadways, thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that have workers involved, two still in serious condition and one in critical condition. I know on my way home driving thru construction area last week a driver flew past me and ran over four caution markers. I did call 911 on the guy, don't know if he was caught or not, but really, what is the hurry? Slow down folks especially in these caution zones. These are real people working and endangering thier lives to make these roads safer for us to get to the races. Think! Think! Think!

Dennis was an outstanding person. My heart breaks for his family. One thing that will never be taken from any of us who had the chance to know him are all of the GREAT memories we have. RIP Dennis you will be missed by all.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Beard family and friends. Dennis will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the other injured workers and their families.
