CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Weekly Racing Series season will open on March 21, but before then, several tracks will be open with Practice Sessions and/or racing events. Competitors can use this opportunity to tune up for the 27-week season, and they can also get their Annual Membership purchased and their paperwork completed.
The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Membership forms are available to be printed off from the series’ web site at www.nesmithracing.com by clicking the Registration tab. Filling this form out before you go to the track will prevent delays at the Registration Window of the sanctioned track.
Once a driver completes both pages of the Membership Form, they can turn it in at their local sanctioned track, or mail it with their Annual Membership Fee of $50 to NeSmith Racing, P.O. 1346, Cartersville, GA 30120. Checks or Money Orders should be made payable to Crate Racin’ USA. Once the office receives the completed Membership Form, they will mail you a 2016 Membership Card.
The 27-week 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Weekly Racing Series season will run from March 21 through September 25. A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals will count towards their National points total. A perfect score is 700 points that represents 14 50-point wins.
Races with car counts of eight or more will earn 50 points to win with a one point interval down to 41 points to start. Races with car counts of less than eight cars will earn 40 points to win with a one-point interval down to 34 points for seventh. A driver that attempts to compete, but does not start a main event will be awarded 25 points.
Once a driver reaches the 14 week point of their season, they will begin netting points on their 15th week. They will then try to replace the lowest weekly total amount their best 14 with a higher one for the remainder of the season. Any point ties at the end of the season will be broken by the higher number of wins, then second-place finishes, etc.
The 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division National Point Fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back ten spots in the point standings at the end of the season.
