Preparations for the 2006 racing season continue at CMS even though the temperature gauge outside indicates winter still has its grasp upon us. In recent weeks several dozen loads of dirt have been added to the racing surface and groomed and manicured for sitting idle until the engines roar to life once again this coming April. Earl and Susan Walls and the rest of the CMS staff have one common goal … to return the track to the glory days of two- and three-wide racing action each and every Saturday night!

The Rules Meeting for the coming season is fast approaching. Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, January 21st, 2006. The meeting will be held at the Grover Hall Building in Warrensburg, MO, with doors opening at 9 a.m. The first hour-and-a-half of the rules meeting has been set aside for registration after which will be the rules and car specification explanations, which begin at 10:30 a.m. The meeting’s general discussion will cover all of the CMS classes: the “Mighty Modifieds,” Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, 305 Sprints and the newly added B-Mods. Fees for registration will be $50 for the entire year. Although car numbers will be available, insurance will not and will be collected at a later time. The Walls recently announced that another familiar face will make a return to CMS this year as Al Mizer will once again serve as the track’s official “tech man.”

In recent weeks there have been several sponsors that have signed on for the 2006 season, some of which are indicated in the early schedule release highlights listed below:

CMS fans are buzzing about the new season and one of the reasons is surely because of the fantastic deals that the Walls have put together for the legions of loyal CMS fans. For the first time in CMS history, Season Passes are being offered at a significantly reduced price. An adult season pass will cost just $150, a senior Season Pass will be $108 and a child’s season pass will be $66, those are all savings of $60 each! There will also be a “family of 4” season pass available for $432, a savings of $240! These passes will make excellent stocking stuffers or presents of any kind for your favorite dirt-racing fan(s). Call (816) 229-1338 to take advantage of these fantastic offers. There are 21 nights of racing scheduled for 2006, of course weather pending.

Another recently announced event will see last year’s top 10 point finishers in all of the 2005 divisions being “officially” recognized during opening-night festivities on April 29th. In addition to the trophy presentations, the top 5 in each division will be justly rewarded with monetary payout. Stay tuned for official CMS press releases prior to the April opening night. You can also stay informed online at the track’s official Website where division payout and additional information have recently been added and updated. The Website can be found at http://www.centralmissourispeedway.net/. We look forward to seeing all of you at the track very soon!
