pro 4 truck?

GO OR GO HOME #93
I'm going to see if I can get a pro 4 for this year not sure if I will be able to. I was thinking of building a truck like a ranger or a S-10, but you do not see to many trucks, what is the reason? I always wanted one but do not want to build something that you have no chance of winning with.

if i am not mistaken it would be a weight problem due to a truck having a full frame. Not too sure but that would be my guess

Think I found a truck, hopefully I'm not making a mistake, but I would like to give it a try, just do not want to get run over every weekend. I would like to be able to be competitive. If anyone who has run a truck before has any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks

I haven't built or raced a pro4 truck but I have raced against them. They seem to handle ok but I've yet to see a fast one. One thing to remember, if they were the hot ticket everyone would be trying to build one. Don't try to reinvent the wheel, go with what works.

I raced an s-10 last year as far as handling and weight there is no issue mine done fine. The problem with the s-10 is trying to get horsepower out of the motor without spending a ton of money thats the down side to the s-10. The upside to the ranger is there are more options for power from the 2.3 but the handling is not so great with the i beam susoension. if i would have been able to put the ford 2.3 in the s-10 i would have kept racing the truck. Hope this helps.

Here is the truck you need to find its in Herman Mo somewhere

no lie there

you sure did beat the fords. It is way cheaper to make a ford go fast than a chevy in the 4cyl class though.

yeah you had that chevy hooked up, jimbo.

you had everybody talkin about that truck. even after it was gone.

dont be discouarged to build the 4 cyl truck you can make them just as fast the cars as long as you can afford the right parts for setup and as long as you have a good engine builder i bought mark childs old truck and brought it down to doe run raced for the first time in it and finished in the top ten and i didnt even race the last four races.if you ever need any advice pm me and i will try my best to help you out

mini stocks

i traded to a guy name rick girad he runs at moberly he wanted it for his son to race. what did you think of the truck when we ran at farmington.

s 10 4 cyl

hey dont let the ford guys fool u u can make a s 10 fast a whole lot cheaper than a ford. I had $900 dollars in my motor and won the track championship at the rock 2 years ago and the following year almost never finished further back than third at doe run the next year. If u bought a s10 and let the ford guys talk u out of runnin it I will take it off ur hand if u want to sell it

I got a ford ranger this weekend. I'm going to give a truck a whirl and see what happens. Hope to do decent but I'm just there to have fun this year and figure out how to get it to handle good. It is going to need a little more work then I thought when I picked it up. Hope to have it ready for the first race of the year, not sure if I'm going to make it. Going to tear it all apart and start over. I appreciate all of the help so far.
