Jeffers Midwest Pro Mod Event 3 This Weekend; Holzhauer Jr.
Dragster Shootout and King Of Track Events A Success!


Madison, IL - This Saturday, June 18, the Jeffers Midwest Pro Mod Series will be
returning to Gateway Raceway for Event three of six on the fast paced 1/8 mile dragstrip.
John Deflorian, in his quick '03 Grand Am, and the rest of the pack look to challenge
series dominator Bill 'The Thrill' Hill and his lightning fast '53 Corvette.

Hill won the first event of the series and was looking to claim victory number two when
rain ended action just before the final round. Taking top speed last time was Deflorian,
which was the first time all year that the Bill "The Thrill" Hill was challenged.

Other Jeffers MidWest Pro Mod Series Regulars include David Schorr, Terry Murphy,
Donnie Little, Dan Saitz, Delon Joseph, and Tim Albright.

With speeds topping 175 mph and times in the four-second bracket, Round three is
looking to be a race for the ages! We look forward to seeing you out at Gateway
Raceway on June 18 for some high flying drag racing action with the Jeffers Midwest Pro
Mod Series.

Bradley Scott and Zach Kerr Use .01 Second Over Dial-in Runs
To Win The 1st Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Shootout Event!

Madison, IL - Bradley Scott (Rochester, IL) combined a stunning .032-second reaction
time with a one-hundredths over-the-dial-in pass to secure a $50 payday and $200
savings bond in his win over John Vice (Paris, IL)in the 8-9 year old division. To
continue the trend Zach Kerr (St. Peters, MO) used a .01 second over dial in to defeat
Jacob Laffargue (St. Joseph, MO) in the 10 and up class and earn a $100 payday and
$200 savings bond.

Scott ran down his opponent before the finish line and took the lead and the win with a
12.914 elapsed time pass at 49.72 mph; Vice slipped to a 13.467 elapsed time pass at
45.78 mph, earning a free entry tech card for his effort.

Laffarge won the race, but went five-hundredths of a second too quick for his 8.95 dial in
when he recorded an 8.905 elapsed time pass at 75.87 mph. Kerr earned the win with a
one-hundredths over 8.492 elapsed time (8.48 dial in) effort at 75.80 mph. For his effort,
Laffarge earned a $50 payday.

Scott and Kerr take the early lead in the Holzhauer Jr. Dragster Summer Shootout, which
will award a $1000 savings bond to the competitor who performs the best in the shootout
events. The second event will be held on July 8th at Gateway Raceway.

NHRA King of the Track Bike Competition Lights Up
Gateway Raceway!


Madison, IL - The NHRA Pro Bike King of the Track first qualifier was held at
Gateway Raceway last Friday, June 10th. The final round placed Bruce Damewood
(Macomb, IL) vs. multi season class champion Bob Lohr (Staunton, IL).
Damewood edged out the champ Lohr by a mere four-thousandths of a second to
claim victory in the Pro Bike final round to qualify himself for Gateway
International Raceway's NHRA King of the Track."

Lohr took the lead off the line but Damewood slowly began to reel in Lohr,
catching the veteran racer before the finish line, applying the brakes to avoid the
breakout, and taking the victory with a one-hundredths-over 9.025 elapsed time
pass on his 9.01 dial-in, at 135.16 miles per hour. Lohr was definitely in the hunt
with a 9.818 E.T. (9.79 D.I.), 129.69 mph effort. Damewood got to the final round
by defeating Ray Devine, Jim Ryan, and Mark Abrams in 5 rounds.

With the victory, Damewood qualified to compete in Gateway International
Raceway's NHRA 'King of the Track', to be held July 9th in conjunction with
Saturday night bracket drag racing program. The "King of the Track" program
will match qualifiers from Gateway's Pro Bike Division, < Mile Super Pro
Division, Carl's 4 Wheel Drive and Performance Pro Division, and Street E.T.
Division in a shootout that will determine Gateway's NHRA "King of the Track."
