question about adding guages

i am tring to add a triple guage set in my pro 4 i need to know if i can wire the amp guage up to the master power kill switch and it still get a correct reading:cool:
 
Ive had several problems getting a good amp reading off some of the gauges out there. If you are worried about it charging...hook up a volt gauge. Should show 13.5-14 at idle..if its that..she is charging and has to be making good amperage. In fact..some of our older semi's originally had amp gauges...then if you add things to the truck..it will throw it off and the driver constantly griped it wasnt charging...when in reality it was. So we got rid of all them...put volt gauges in them...straight off the power wire coming off back of the alternator(the big post)
