I know its way to early to be talking about next year, but i have heard rumors of eliminating the hornets next year at the track? I planned on getting another one for next year but would like to be sure i have somewhere to race it to do so. Thanks in advance.

I was told (so at this point it's just a rumor.) That B mods may run twice a month. It may have even be posted somewhere. Don't know for sure.

yeah ive heard a rumor that they were going to be running b-mods one week then hornets one week, if thats the case im not going to buy another car only to race twice a month.

This is hard to believe. The hornets have always had a great Count! But would also say the b mods have had a great count as well when giving the chance to run! I sure hope kevin and crew dont run off a great group of cars and close the door on all the younger guys coming in the sport!

Streetstocks is where racers are suppose to cut there teeth....Race cars are not ment to be front wheel drive imo...Really needs to be some revamping of the class structures and rules to make it easy and cheap to get into racing..I'm sure this has crossed Kevin's mind

Ive heard about 3 different ways they might do that. Be a good class to add just hate to see a class go because of it or run on alternating weeks. Hornet counts have dropped and i have to agree with Tim. Should cut new racers teeth on street stocks just make them more affordable. But then again my beleif on b mods is just a 3 link or leafs only. If on a 4 bar lock them down and only 2bbl even if you have a crate motor. There are so many 3 links laying around and really affordable there is no excuse to go that route to keep everyone from making an A mod with a 2 bbl carb.

see thats the thing, i can buy a complete race ready hornet, for the same price i can get just a motor in a street stock. $2000 and be on the track, or $2000 and have just a motor. I would hate to see the class go because this is where alot of people started. I wanted to get my sister into racing and hornets would be the easiest way, plus cheapest by far.

Oh i agree. Problem is you see guys reselling their hornets for 3500-4000 dollars and that is not what the class is supposed to be. Actually its supposed to be buy a cheap car thats not streetable. Put a cage in it and go. Cruiser cars started like that and go stupid really fast with the same deal. You soon had old sportsman cars with stock bodies on it and wild motors running in a class that was supposed to be cheap and least yet fun.

Just because there are people who are "asking" $3500-$4000 doesn't mean they are getting that. I live and breath the 4-cyl class and there are not many getting that kind of money. No matter what you do with the Street Stock class, you will never make it as affordable as the Hornets. By the way, the kids aren't driving 80's Monte Carlo's out on the street. What they do drive and know all about, are 4-cyl fwd cars!

I totally get what your saying and great post.

Sta
tement by Tri City.... We have NOT discussed next year. Still need to finish 2013.
I understand you still have to finish this season, I'm just trying to see if me and many other will have a season to look forward to next year

Yea..... I'm not a hornet racer but, for the sake of discussion........ They don't make full framed rear wheel drive cars any more... There is alot of compact cars sitting all across the nation...... So settle in..... Hornets aren't going anywhere.........20 years down the road we'll all be racing some sort of hornet class.......

We haven't begun to look at next year yet. If someone wouldn't have started a rumor this would not be up for discussion right now. We have not even talked about next year yet!
