Racer killed when tire explodes

Although this article says he was injured, he was in fact killed.

I'm guessing he was in the car and it was the left rear that blew?

If this is the same one I saw on another website he was airing the tire up and exploded.

Yes, he was putting air in the tire.

Scary considering I just got done putting god knows how much air in a tire getting it on the bead. I doubt I'm the first. Best wishes to David Tarters family.

Scares me everytime I try and seat a bead on a stubborn one. One of our local tire stores have had two fatalities in the past 10 years from tires. Probably happens more than we know.
