Mother Nature wins on Saturday night at Warrensburg’s own Central Missouri Speedway on KMMO Kids Night at the races. Persistent late afternoon rain showers ruined the dirt track conditions along with disappointing some of the kids on Saturday evening. Kids Night will return again next Saturday evening, August 22nd at CMS with the ‘mighty’ Modifieds, ULMA Late Models, Street Stocks and B-Modifieds. All kids 12 and under will be permitted to come down to the track surface at intermission to run foot races with their respective age groups. A bike donated by Steve and Julie Hisle and a Play Station Two donated by modified driver, Tylere Dowell will also be given away at intermission. Kids just need to register for the drawings before intermission. Winners will be determined during intermission when names are randomly selected from the names registered for the prizes. All kids 12 and under will receive a free goodie bag full of donated items from racers, local businesses and fans.

Fans also need to be prepared for next Saturday evening when the Discovery Channel invades CMS. Film crews producing a dirt-track racing reality show will set-up their video and audio equipment at Central Missouri Speedway to take in the racing action at the high-banks. Fans are encouraged to design signs for their favorite drivers for the special event.

Late Model and Modified drivers are reminded about the pre-registration program under way for the Labor Day weekend specials kicking off with a $1500-to-win ULMA Late Model special on Friday, September 4th along with modified qualifying for the 12 inside row starting positions for the special on Saturday evening. Night two on September 5th, will include the Street Stocks and B-Modifieds along with the Modifieds competing for the remaining 12 outside row starting spots for the 40 lap feature event with a first place $3,000 -to-win special.

Join us again next week and keep updated with track news, complete point standings, results, special-event and additional general information by visiting www.centralmissourispeedway.net. Call the Track Report line at (660) 747-2166 for the latest race information. Fans and drivers are reminded about the Connected Hearts donation boxes at all entrances to the track. Connected Hearts is an organization that provides funds and services donated from the community to help prevent homelessness and help those children experiencing homelessness in the Warrensburg area.
