I have a few points on this topic, I was not there and did not see the incident in question, but I have seen Ray Walsh race alot and never recall seing anything dirty.

First this jumpinjack guy is supposed to be a flagman at BCR? If so, his way of doing things must be great, they had a total of 40 cars and 200 paying atendance at their last special show. Lets keep that in perspective when we read his post, or consider his opinions. Maybe the judgement calls he makes are part of why the have such a huge crowd and car count.

Several of you especially CC-28 are always quoting that at MCS they do this and that. Perhaps you should look at this if your bumper touches a bumper and a yellow comes out rule when you look at his low LateModel car count. Maybe you can blame it on the economy, the price of gas, locations of racers shops, and loyalties to other tracks before MCS opened. I will tell you that it is rules like that bumper rule, the old cone rule, and car count based payouts that cause that nice, and fun track to not draw alot of latemodels.

Many of you are wanting to screw alot of racers instead of just one or two when a wreck happens, and alot of you want over officiating. Those things are bad for car count. When you send more people to the back than you have too, you ruin peoples results, make their nite no fun, and with purses dropping like they do, cost them alot of money. That is no way to encourage people to stay in the sport or to return to your track.

It sure seems to me like most of you complaining about I-55, Belleclair and TCS are regulars at tracks that do not draw near the cars or fans, or are the old Wente TCS regulars, and do not understand that their way of doing things is why they have poor car counts.

I guess no one remembers last sunday when Hancock ran over the 17m car trying to go 4 wide down the back stretch the guy was in a transfer spot for the feature then got f****d out of it by rough racing.

We were sitting there wondering why Hancock was being black flagged when the announcer said it was because he hit the orange cone.

What are you talking about? I don't even like Montgomery that much, I consider TCS my home track. When have I ever said MCS was any better than any other track? I said that doing it that way takes the judgement out. Wanna know why the car counts are so low at most places? Guys get in over there heads and try to put together late models putting all there eggs in one basket and then when they blow a motor or such, they have to sit out for a year. Maybe those kind of guys should move into a class they can afford to stay on the track.

This is technical about the types of rules certain tracks have concerning black flags and sending people to the back.

CC-28, I I just pointed out that the rule they have that you quoted is bad for car count, and is very unfair to alot of racers, probably more often than it does what it is inteded to to do.

Jumpinjack, I am not being negitive, your ideas about sending everyone to the back, blackflagging people, and basically over oficiating would cause me to attempt avaoiding a track you flag at.

Each racer has the right to chose wich track to race at and what classes to race, most(including myself) know the risk of missing nites or months if we have problems and must replace major components and are poor. If there were no underfunded latemodel and modified teams the car counts would be really low everywhere, instead of great at places that pay and run things well, and struggling at other places.

WOW !!!! Now that's away to make them like you LOL!!!!

I think all the bench racers need to read the following thread ... this from a DRIVER's perspective of what happened.

From talking to the racers, if you want to put the driver to the rear that "caused" the caution, they feel the 56 of Lafferty slowed going into the corner more than he had on other restarts. (But this was his right as race leader so please don't think I'm blaming Lafferty for anything.) The fastest line was on the bottom, and Lafferty was protecting his line. Many drivers found this out when the tried to go to the top to pass.

This caused Griffaw to hook his bumper and the chain reaction that followed resulted in cars checking up and Walsh getting into Hancock. This was an unfortunate racing incident. One car spun and stopped on the track: Hancock. If the officials knew, from the drivers perspective who actually caused the yellow and had sent Lafferty to the rear this thread would be 100 pages by now. The best call to make is to call it on the driver who brought out the caution and don't speculated on "who caused it". The right call was made from my perspective.

Thanks ChewinDirt for clearing up this "who did what to who" thread.

So all that I have got out of this post is that this person and that person is a good driver and did you see what this person and that person did " why didn't they put him to the back" and this person and that person isn't a dirty driver so it is just a bunch of people giving there opinion and every other person telling them that there wrong and that they give negative posts and when they give positive ones no one even notices. So really was any one wrong, not really they are all entitled to there opinion
weather it be wrong or right wouldn't it be terrible if everyone in the whole world drove a pink car we wuold have a pink carnation. It is just sometimes that people vent there anger or behavior on here so lets just all get along and keep racing alive I love racing always have and always will, and I'm not always right

Hello

You started this post what did you expect to happen? Besides you started the bashing just in the title alone! I think you pretty much got out of this post what you put into it ! Nothing more nothing less !

I did notice that jumpinjack has a definite like and dislike for certain drivers. In 2 different posts he has shown dislike for Ray Walsh. For someone that wishes to be an official again, isn't he showing prejudice? I know most officials have their favorite drivers or root for certain drivers but they are not posting dislike for anyone on this public forum.

I have seen Dave flag and he did a good job, as well as I could tell from the stands. The few times I was around friends when he was around, he seemed to be a nice guy.

However, if I was trying to get a job, I would not be bashing drivers, officials or associations. Kinda burning bridges!

To All Concerned,

1st- I was standing down in turn 1 when this happened, the 0 car got a little loose and
the 1W tryed to get under him as the 0 came back down to the inside they made contact turning the 0 car around. The 1W car was defininately trying to avoid the contact as his tires we're locked up! As for as I was concerned this was a racing
incident with no body to BLAME. The reason for the BLACK Flag is that Mr. Hancock
decided to express his opinion in sign langauge and was told to leave at the point!!

2nd- I do not hide behind coattails as you refered! I am very much in the open at all
times and do have the final decision in all matters!!

3rd- Jimmy Dearing is not just a good photographer he is very knowlegable in all forms
of motor racing and does a great job with this BOARD, after all you people get on here
and always want to see the results and articles he posts don't you?

4th- I cannot believe that the internet has turned into an outlet for such whining! Probably the best thing for all considered is for Jimmy to just shut STL Racing down.
Then how would everyone feel?

Thank You,
Kevin Gundaker

Thanks Kevin, I was wrong again, I agree that you run an excellant track, i also agree that j dearing is a great admisnistrator of this site, and to clear up something that I did not say was that you hide behind coat tails it was said by someone else. I did not mean to cause so much controversy but I as a fan saw what i thought was what I said, but I was wrong, just like life we all make mistakes. Have a great day enjoy life it's too short.
