What year did Mark Gansmann come from the tail to pass Dixon with about 10(??)laps to go,for the win???? That was one of the more memorable shows from Highland.

My Wife (the ultimate Mark Gansmann fan) said it was 1994.

From the Highland website...."The nights events start with the pit gates opening at 3:00 P.M., grandstand at 5:30 P.M. and racing to get underway at 6:30 P.M.
Admissions are $20 for Adults, Box seats - $25, Children - $10, Kids under 7 - free, and Pit Passes - $35."

Same as last year, I believe.

I don't care who makes the prices, how long they've been that way or what website states it..and I don't need any apologies from anybody..MY POINT IS THAT IN MY OPINION those prices are higher than I'm willing to pay. If u need me to draw u a picture pm me and ill get my kids crayons out so you understand my post.

Save your money to buy a traln ticket.......BTW,the adult drunks were ther e at the tractor pull on Tues.I'm just saying......

Not that it is any of my business, but why do you have such a hard on for Highland anyway? You always have something negative to say about that place, the people there, and anything else that you can come up with to run it down.... Just don't go and you won't have to worry about, how the track was, and how drunk the adults got..

Whatever!

I don't know Dirtboy nor do I care what you all think!!!!! I will not comment anymore about Highland,so you all can give it a rest........Have a nice day before someone on here screws it up. BTW,you don't know me so don't make judgments>I wouldn't do it to you!!!!!!!!!THX!:p

Local Sponser

Too bad this race can't find a sponser to increase the purse, I know over the last 10 years the winner's share has ranged from $3000, to $5000 up to $7500 when Wings to Go was a sponser for a few years.

I don't think $3000 to win $200 to start will bring in many of the bigger names.

I hope the track holds up since the tractor pull was last night.

I don't post often, mostly lurk, but wanted to post now and agree with CT. I don't know why so many people feel the need to criticize all of the time.

I know why some people a love/hate for x driver or x track, but I'm not going to sit behind my computer and bash them or their posts. If I disagree with something, I may post on it, but it is not going to be post after post after post about the same topic.

I used to really enjoy this board, but it is quickly falling off of my favorite places to visit.

I haven't posted much on here this year either, but you just gotta get tired of the same person bashing the same place non stop... We get it.. biker6403 doesn't like Highland Speedway... Then don't go!

I understand that everyone has an opinion and all opinions are welcome on this site. So say what you want. I am just thankful that we have so many tracks that are this close together that we have options week in and week out to go watch some pretty good racing every week. If we get the opportunity to go watch some racing durring the week that should be considered a bonus. Don't go if you dont want to pay the admission and/or you dont like the track.. its just another option to watch a sport we all obviously really enjoy

Hopefully Highland has a decent car count and crowd tonight with the heat. Just 2 more of my cents.

If you read some of my previous posts, you would know that I started going to Highland Races in 1974!!!!! I'm not some punk azz kid that doesn't know chit from shinola. When I go to the races and drop my hard-earned money, I have a reasonable expectation to see a quality RACING surface, where you don't have to squint thru the dust to see the action and the track isn't burned up after the Heat Races.I want to be on the edge of my seat, not setting on my hands and yawning halfway thru the night. My hope would be that someone in charge would be paying attention to constructive criticism, and try to make it better instead of trying to make it into a dirt version of Martinsville.... I've seen a ton of good races there but not in the last 5 years, but I'll leave that to the other "experts" on here to decide.. BTW,I don't remember the last time someone got on here and was excited about the show they saw at Highland, unlike I-55,TCS,or Fayette Co. YOUR TURN!!!!!! :) I remember when the stands were rockin,it's a shame it has come to this!!!!!!

I guess when you say "YOUR TURN" you're referring to me... I was going to be done with my last post on this... but i guess i can come back with something simple to say.

Doesn't matter to me how old you are, how many years you have been watching races there or anywhere, what you do in shinola(not even sure what or where that is), or where you put your hands while your sitting..
Like i said before... Just don't go.
Thanks,
Chris
