Lebanon,Mo.-With over 75 raceteams in the pits and a smooth fast racing surface the LebanonMidwaySpeedway presented the regular points show and the race for the Purple Crown as Relay For Life Teams sold tickets and well represented the upcoming Walk as Lebanon's Jamie Ragland overcame early adversity to come from behind in capturing the USRA modified feature win and protecting his points lead.

The cars rolled out for the 20 lap Modified feature and Ragland had a tire go down on the opening pace lap and ducked into the pits to change and started 13th on the field as Justin Neuman jumped to the early lead with Rusty Dukes following.Outside front row starter Kris Jackson looped the car in turn 4 and collected Steve Martin on lap 2.Martin's night ended early as Jackson went to the rear of the field. On the restart,Neuman jumped to the top groove with Dukes applying pressure on the botton lane as defending champion Eric Hudson,Steve Muilenburg and former point leader Jimmy Willis who started 12th were battling.Side by side action was the call with Neuman keeping the top spot with Dukes and Hudson applying pressure. On lap 10,runner-up Dukes looped it in turn 2 bringing out the yellow flag.On the restart,Neuman kept in front with Hudson now applying pressure as Ragland had charged up to third place and was gaining.THe final yellow waved on lap 15 has Kris Jackson's car came to a halt in turn 1 bunching up the field. On the restart,Neuman was withstanding the charges of Hudson as Ragland and Muilenburg along with Willis were swapping spots. On lap 17,Ragland found some bite on the bottom and moved around Hudson to take second and closed up to the leader Neuman.Heading for the white flag,Ragland pulled to first the outside then shot down low to grab the lead and claim the victory with Neuman holding on to second followed by Hudson,Willis and a hard charging Dukes.

The Bomber class was running for a big winners share of the pure with 500 to win on the line as Rob White grabbed the early lead from his pole spot with Joe Francis following with newcomer Micheal Merritt following.White would set a fast pace until lap 8 when a 4 car incident took White to the pits along with Tim Jones,Landon Johnson and Russell Ireland. This put Francis in the lead with Shawn Strong following. On the restart,Francis and Strong battled until lap 14 when Strong made the pass around Francis.Francis tries several times to get back in the front while in the pack several drivers wre charging from deep in the field including Rodney Yost,Jones and point leader Brandon Knudtson. On lap 18 Strong was able to pull away from Francis in grabbing the big payday with Francis,Brandon Waters, Micheal Merritt, and Tim Jones completing the top 5 as 13 of the 22 starters on the lead lap.

The B-mods saw a new face in the winner's circle as rookie JC Morton took advantage of his front row starting spot and never looked back in grabbing his first ever first feature win at the Midway.Morton drove like a cool veteran as he and Ken Dickinson went wheel to wheel on the start, but a cut tire forced Dickinson to the pits and rejoined at the rear of the field.Morton had to withstand several charges from Colt Cheevers and then Mickey Burrell in grabbing the win.Burrell,Steve Muilenburg,Dickinson andJamie Barker completed the top 5 at the finish with another great side by side battles.

The SuperStocks had perhaps the best race of the night as veteran JC Newell grabbed the opening lead with Mike Jones using the upper groove to stay close as Larry Prewett started making his move to the front.Newell and Jones ran several laps wheel to wheel as Prewett moved around Jones to grab second place on lap 5.With the long green run,Prewett had JC in his sights and moved around on the top groove and would pass for the lead to only have JC grab it back in turn 2.A lap 10 caution bunched the field-up as JC brought the field down again to the start with Prewett and point leader Ben Newell closing quickly pulling even with Prewett several times. As the checkered flew,it Was JC holding off the late charges in grabbing the win followed by Prewett,Ben Newell,Dan Newell and a fast moving Travis Hill.

The FactoryStock feature provided plenty of action as Mark Davis grabbed the opening lead with Donnie Miller and Dusty Rhoads following .On lap 6,Rhoads made the pss to take control as Davis retired a lap later with problems.Ted Welschmeyer had a good run go bad as he spun in turn 2 losing a lap while challanging Donnie Miller for position.Up front Rhoads was in control with Miller coming quickly as point leader Tim Petty racing a new car tonight had started 9th moved to third place. With the checkered waving Rhoads took home the feature with Miller a close second followed by Petty,Sundance Keeper and Glen Dismang following.

Next Friday Night Midway will be running the Season Championships for the SuperStocks,FactoryStocks,USRA Modifieds,Bombers,B-Mods and 305 WingedSprints. The track has also announced a special Sat Night Sept 13th racing prgram under the lights.
