On Monday we found out that Randy has been diagnosed with a rare blood disorder that the doctors think over time can turn into myeloma (same thing they were testing for in 2010). Randy has another area of his spine that the doctors are concerned with, so we are going to take it easy for a few weeks (after Highland tonight). The doctors are very confident the treatment that they have planned for Randy will be successful to treat his blood disorder and to strengthen his bones to prevent any further issues down the road. Randy will be receiving radiation for a few weeks as well as chemotherapy. The radiation will target the area of the spine that the doctors are worried about, and the chemo will treat the entire body. The chemotherapy has no side effects (no hair loss, no nausea, no weight loss, etc). The radiation can make him feel a little fatigued. Randy began his treatment plan on Friday (16th) and we are very pleased with the results thus far. We have further tests to be run this week, and will continue with treatment until the doctors feel that he is cleared and everything is back to normal. We are very confident with Randy's plan of care and anxious to fight off these bad cells in his blood. Again, the doctors are very confident, Randy is in great spirits, and we are going to do whatever we need to do to make sure that he is healthly and back to normal.

Racing is a big part of our lives and we would like all of our fans and the racing community to know the situation. We appreciate all of the support that we have had over the last few years and we are looking forward to many, many more years of racing.

I am a big Korte fan. Over the past few years I have gotten to know Randy and Teri a little bit and have found them both to be wonderful people. They treat me not as a fan, but as a friend. I am deeply saddened by the news that trouble is once again brewing in Randy's body. I am however encouraged by the news that the long term prognosis is good. As I would for any friend, I will pray for him and if he wishes, with him and trust in healing hand of the Lord.

At this point, I reall'y don't care about the racing aspect of things. I just want him to be healthy so that he can be a husband, father, and grandfather for many years to come. If he races, that's a bonus.

Randy is a big part of racing around this area and has fans all over the racing world. I wish him and his family the best. Thoughts and prayers for all..
 
Get well soon Randy. Whether your a fan or not, no one can deny that you raise the quality of racing in this area. I hope to see you back on the track soon.
