(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The D&R Motorsports team ventured to the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama over the April 16-17 weekend for a pair of Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) events and driver Ray Cook walked away with his fourth victory of the 2010 season! Ray laid down the quickest lap in SRRS group qualifying on Friday night to earn a front row starting spot in the main event. The Brasstown, North Carolina native opened up the doubleheader weekend with a bang, as he dominated the A-Main to grab the $2,000 top prize over Anthony Burroughs, Stacy Holmes, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, and Tony Morris.

Night two at GVS on Saturday paid $3,000 to the winner and Ray had his sights set on yet another trip to victory lane. After starting from the outside of the front row, the driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" paced the field early in the main event before sliding to a sixth place performance due to brake issues. Ray finished behind winner Ronnie Johnson, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Stacy Holmes, Tony Morris, and Anthony Burroughs. "We have had quite a bit of good fortune at Green Valley the past couple of years and it was good to us last weekend as well," quipped Ray Cook this week via telephone. "When we won on Friday night, we probably didn't have the best car on the track. Fortunately, I qualified up front and the track position really helped us out. Then on Saturday, I led the feature for awhile, but those spec motor cars really got rolling. Hopefully, we can keep running up front this weekend with the Lucas Oil Series at Bedford and Hagerstown!"

The #53 team will now turn their focus to a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series races this upcoming weekend in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania will take center stage on Friday night, April 23, while the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland wraps-up the doubleheader weekend on Saturday evening, April 24. Both high-profile, one-day shows will be headlined by 50-lap feature events that pay $10,000 to the winner. Ray finds himself eighth in the LOLMDS point standings heading into Bedford tomorrow night.
