Reasons you won't go....

ticket or pit pas

I would like to have had Jimmy request whether you buy a ticket or come in via a pit pass. I think to a promoter this would make a big difference in the results offered to this question.

For our racing we have to travel 1 or more hours to get to the track and the idea of running 5 or 6 classes makes it way too late if we have to work the next morning. I feel tri-city has the best track and facilities, but they go on WAY too long if you can't get the show over by 11 or 12 then you have too many classes so we stopped going.

There are reasons I don't like some of the tracks we have, but I certainly don't stay home and not go. I go to Belleville every Friday and most if not all the special shows in the stl area. We all know what we like in a race nite program, and surprisingly after reading this it varies quite a bit. My suggestion is this. Instead of staying home because your track is not making you happy. Try going to a different track once or twice. If you don't like the favoritism at highland,go to pevely. You don't like the big money guys winning all the time at granite,go to belleville. If you miss seeing Jimmy Cummins race go where he is racing. The comment I can't get over is racing is boring. WTF. You want boring go to a baseball game or tennis match. I just noticed I recomend u go to two allied race tracks. We all know they **** but it is what we have to deal with. I would much rather go to races with allied than none at all.

You hit the nail on the head, that's why I go to demo derbies now ;) LOL

i agree 100% with this post would like to see b-mods at I-55 and dashs
I agree with racer1a . Make a motor rule so everyone is more equal and have a better chance of winning . I'm getting tired of watching the same big money motors win everything every week . That's why racing is so boring to watch most of the time . Skillful driving winning races is a lot more exiting to watch and will bring back more fans . That's the trouble with racing now a days .

I wish it was as easy to predict the winners at horse racing like it is now with stock car racing Id be a millionaire .

Agreed - tracks that run too many classes during a special event and the running the feature "promoted" class for this special event AFTER all the other classes have run after the intermission.
IMO - this was the death nail of the Benton, Mo track

Not bashing anyone, but ump needs a motor limit better racing period before there aint no ump no cars no ump do the math.take them big motors away and lets see who can drive .

The only reason I don't go to a track is because the wife says its her night. So, I of course, invite her to come with me to the track. You got to atleast try. LOL

Most of the complaints here are based on the decision making of officials and/or racing Associations. Reminds you of politics, you love them or hate them, they been good to you or bad to you. (Depending on what news you watch.) Unless you flew in the officials from another planet, officials will always be accused of favoritism.

Racing a sport that has emotional ups and downs like no other... for a driver, and including, crews, family and their fans. There are the highs, the lows, and the down right awful nights, especially if it's not your fault. Being someone from both sides of the crash wall, I can relate. Drivers sometimes make the worst spectators, complain, complain. Why? Because of the mind set, "I'm a racer, you're a chump if you just watch racing." Or, "I should be out there, I'd kick their azz, I can't because (put profanity laced excuses here)..." and the big green eyed envy monster.

But, man, what better place to be than a race track!! (I can think of some, but we won't go there) Your racing buddies are there, the sound, the smell (well sometime not) and the great racing. Sure some race nights are stinkers, that's just the nature of the beast. I will stay to the bitter end of a show. Driving half the night to get home. I not the happiest camper and wish the track had noted sooner that the the show was running late. But sometimes there is a unpredicted big time killer. You all know by now, more classes in the pits, the bigger the back gate money to pay the top end cars. It's a bitter pill, but common today. The days of big crowds for one or two classes of cars on a regular night are mostly gone. The tracks that run sprint/midget cars are usually the exception.

How about a rule starting at 10:30 or 11 p.m. One spin or bringing out the yellow (unassisted), your out, that would move things along.

There is no silver bullet fix all, but don't shoot at the promoter, you may get what you wished for... no racing.

Lack of track prep. I like dirt track racing, not pavement. So if a track is hard and black, I will not go back. The last time I went to I-55, the midgets were burning off their tires, I have not been back since.
Long running shows. Sometimes it is one of those nights. But do we really need a 30 minute intermission? Just because we have a long break does not mean I will buy more food, if it is to long, I won't buy another ticket.

what i meant by "boring" was how many times do you get home from the races and all you remember a few weeks later is who won, if that. Also, I dont mean to seem so negative about the other divisions, I just prefer to watch my friends race rather than people I dont really know.

Rain, Wife in a bad mood, or at the Lake mainly but I will agree this year I will cut back and only attend the big shows mainly, I too am tired of seeing the same guys win week after week and the track owners/promoters do nothing to change this, so i gotta agree with race1a and 3Abreast on what they said ....and i've said many times put economy engine packages in all classes.....the owners/promoters better pull there heads out of there @$$ before you lose the fort !

If no motor limit then leave tracks black that will take those engines away i try to race all black tracks ive seen the greatest racin on black tracks this year side by side and dont say its hard on tires let off the gas mash boy learn to roll the foot raced same tire three weeks in a row at tri city and pevely and it looks brand new thats six nights thats on mods now dont bash me for midgets and sprints.

this is a great post from atrue die hard race fan!!!

It burns me up when I go EARLY to a special show, stand in line, buy my ticket, walk in and see the whole top row covered with blankets!!TCR & Highland are the worst for this.I commend Don @ Bell-vagas for not allowing that. And I agree 5-6 classes are too many for the Big shows.JMO

From a career crew guys standpoint, the thing that burns me the most is blatant moronics of officials. Ive always given officials the benefit of the doubt but over the last two seasons ive seen some calls that Stevie Wonder could have made better than the official. Also (issue at Belleville) I always hate waiting all night watching the race track and fine tuning the car, only to be told put it on the trailer you will run next week. This happened alot this year. No excuse. If you have to operate under the confines of a curfew, run less classes. In 2010 this wasnt an issue.

From a general fan standpoint, i HATE the five-ten minute pauses under yellow in the features because of one thing or another. If the track crew is busy thats one thing. But how many times do we see (mostly at pevely) 22 cars lined up and one driver complaining or the scorers taking forever to get the lineups. No excuse for this in the day of transponders.

All this being said, I would rather go to the worst run racetrack on earth than none at all. These are just a few reasons I would pick one track over another.

Put the family back in the stands !!! Let a small cooler in with a family allow snacks to be brought in . A lot if family's DON'T wanna buy eats and drinks from the track!
