Reasons you won't go....

Blatant favoritism has become rampant in local tracks.

I have zero tolerance for a show not getting started on time, long/unnecessary intermissions, and habitual one lane tracks.

I love the facilities/track at Granite. Absolutely loathe going there, because there's a 90% chance I'm not getting home until 2 AM.

This past year was the first year I've gotten burnt out on racing. Don't get me wrong, there were many factors that promoters couldn't control...mainly the heat/drought. Going every Friday/Saturday of the summer just got old...and expensive. I don't plan on attending as many regular shows this year.

Lastly, I hate sitting at Highland and listening to all the "radio ads" during breaks in the action.

Im with you Midget Man... If you cant have good track prep, just give it up! I go to PowrI races and I dont remember the last time I saw a dry or black, one grooved track..A great place to go see fast, good racing is Macon Ill.. Worth the drive!! There are nites they run 5 classes and are out by 10 or 11!!
The last time I went to I-55, the midgets were burning off their tires, I have not been back since.
Long running shows. Sometimes it is one of those nights. But do we really need a 30 minute intermission? Just because we have a long break does not mean I will buy more food, if it is to long, I won't buy another ticket.

We need to reach out more to the kids...maybe getting local cars to all the local schools with the promoters pushing to get the kids out for great family fun! Take groups of 5 through the pits to meet and great their fav team. Get the kids back on the track like the old days with kids riding to pack in the track. Drawings every week to have honorary kids it the pits all night with their fav team!!! If we don't do much to get these kids here more, we ain't gonna make any progress. Kids need a more hands on approach and close up look to get more into the sport we all love. If these sponsors knew they was helping bring more kids to the sport by helping we would see more sponsors wanting to help! Maybe even have a deal where the kids can get a meal with their fav driver every week in the stands lol

I agree with alot of the posts and very good points!! We do need to support our local tracks for whatever reason or there wont be anymore in the future! My big beef is this one........bob Wente told us in driver's meetings that we were there to put on a show........not to race. He was right!!!! If a certain class cant get their act together in my opinion pull them ALL aside and tell them if you dont get your act together then you will run last till you do or get some weeks off. No exceptions. Ive seen some really great hornet racing compared to a boring 1 person late model win. True it still takes a man to wheel that 1 car to a win but fans really deep down like wait......love a great close race. If we can make that happen as much as possible and not see 6 yr old tantrums thrown when some dont get their way it makes for a great show. I said this before and got blasted for it but you CAN run a show without big race cars. If it was side by side and jaw dropping racing there would be some fans that would kill to see that week in and week out. Sportsmanship goes along way as well. Very seldom though ive seen it more this year do i see after a race fellow racers congratulate the winners or top 3 for their acheivments. I like the Groupon deal......its the wave of the future. the ticket stamp thing would work great as well. I beleive in giving our Military individuals free passes as much as they need due their serving our counrty. Put butts in the seats and youll make money off concessions. Put butts in the seats and you may gain future racers as well. Id pick a class every week and have them interact with fans or kids in some way. Like the jr fan club......pretty cool. the party bus at Tri city is a great idea as well. Congrats on them for that move as it cost them to do that but also brings in future fans and who knows......maybe the next Kenny Wallace as well. Great thread Jimmy Dearing to start. Hope it helps in some way or another. One note and this might sound weird..........but why cant we make the street stocks run like the old sportsmans ran............no fenders or front nose pieces and make them look like classic racers? Even a monte body with buggar bars visible out front would look pretty cool in my opinion. Save drivers too on body pieces as those can add up as well.

One other thing is this and it can be self policed....when you have a driver that does a ridiculous act of driving and really does a bone head move...........i think their needs to be an independant jury of drivers or even former drivers who can sit down and figure out what to do with said individual. I mean there are guys who have bad nights..........left their brains at home or their right foot is so heavy the left foot cant compensate on the brake pedal for it. But a repeat offender week in and week out? That needs dealt with ASAPor that will make other drivers fearful of that guy costing them money in torn up stuff.

I think you have your left and right mixed up, at least the way my car is set up!

I stopped racing cause it just wasn't worth it and I realize that when I cleaned house one night at belleville and I actually lost money that night after paying for gas in the car, truck, getting in , and something to eat. That not including my wife and daughter get in. A Racecar owner can not stay racing if your not paying them enough to afford the cost just to even come to the track. Its a fun hobby and would consider doing it again if you at least had a chance to make your money back. Now I lost interest in racing the past couple of years. This past year I maybe went about 5-6 times at most. PAYOUT is my answer.

i won't go back or race as much at a track where i don't get to run my feature because its to late, and u go ask promo. why don't u mix up the line up every once in awhile and tells u because people only come to see late models and mods our class ain't really that important .jmo

Not going to Fayette County because promoter decided there wasn't enough street stocks to race in 2013. Canned class,,,,going to Charleston,,,they average 30 cars there and pay better.

Not going to a track that works their track every intermission then some nights they dont have enough time to get all the races in because of curfew.

Hears my take on reworkin the track at intermission, leave it alone 99.1 percent of all race tracks do this and y they think its makin a better racing surface but in general there wasting time making a bigger mess of there track anyway everyones set-ups are throne off by doin this then we have to take more time and get ***** at because were holdin up staging when its there faul for causing it unless the tracks got a hole needing filled and packed or theres a cushion thats two foot high and needs motor graded down two have two grooves leave it alone and black better racing period.

Not fan friendly. What happened to JR fan club? Show running to late. No not everyone has to work Saturday or Sunday but some of use do and still want to see our favorite class and can't cause we have to work the next day.
