As the holidays are upon us, I just want to take time to remember those in the racing world we lost this past year. I'll start off with 3 people that I talked to everytime I saw them at the track and other places.

Mike Meurer - The Talker Guy is truly missed. One of the best announcers ever and I very much considered him a friend.

Charles Haffer (Photobilly) - Great guy that may of been the biggest racing fan in the area.. He also happened to be a photographer and good friend.

John Poole - Another photographer who really encouraged me to get into racing photography..

Please add to my list....

Linda,

When you see that list of names all at once, it's unbelievable they have all left in such as short period of time!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all their families.

It's certainly been an emotional year for the entire racing community.

Kevin & Tammy

We lost too many in one year. The STL racing community will miss all of them as many will be missed more than others. Mike will be the hardest, but that is part of life.

In my memory, this has been the WORST year for racing related funerals. The talent, knowledge, and passion for the sport that we've lost in 2012 is incomparable. At the same time it reinforces how lucky the St. Louis racing community is to have had that diversity and depth in our backyards. We are continually blessed with the best there is in racing, right here at home. Let's keep up that legacy.

Add Val Wibbenmeyer to the list,

Val Wibbenmeyer 73 03/26/2012 A.A.R.A. Protest Man/Car Owner/Race supporter, Dave's (Webo 96) Dad, & Andrew's (Wibb 96) Grandfather

interesting thought,,check the ages on most,,they are up there,,guess if ya made it through years of driving these hot rods carma will let ya live a bunch more years so ya can relate all them racing stories,,not that us old guys n gals would embellish any those stories.....lenny g.happy new year

My mom used you tell me of the days when Irene Treppler got behind the wheel a time or two at Lake Hill. She was a nice lady and I just found out recently that she passed last year. We will miss them all.
