good to see cole get his first late model win
havent been to mt vernon in a few years but always thought the cole bros had it going on. they were in modifieds then.

Yes Congrats to Frankie on another great win with Mark Faust right on his tail. I believe it was Carson then Michael Kloos.. I did something tonight that I dont normally do.. I taped the whole race, plus Frankies heat and the dash..

On lap 18 Chad Zobrist spun himself out while leading the Feature. After being sent to the back. He elected to take it to the pits.. Ill never understand this guy.. Good driver, great car. One little mishap and he goes to the pits.. NO offense Zobrist fans, but he sure acts like a little baby sometimes when things dont go his way.. With that car he could have passed quite a few cars and still got more points.

Anyway.. Congrats to Frankie.. you well deserve it..

Dont Matter.. what toy are you getting?

Justrunem14 you are right Late Model Feature was great..3 wide in turn 2 Millikan,Cole and the Salty Dog..sure hated that Millikan blew up with 2 laps to go..Congrats to Kevin Cole and you were great Salty Dog!

Congrats to Frankie

It's nice to see a good, clean driver win a well deserved Feature at Highland. 3rd place finish at Belle-Clair on Friday and last week won the Challenge of Champions Feauture.......Way to be consistent. Good things come to those who drive clean week in and week out....JMO
Thanx,

How many cars were still in the race when he spun? UMP pays 18 points to everyone 10th place and down, so from a points perspective, it may have simply been a pragmatic move to pull in.

19 cars started

but not for sure if they were all still in it then or not. I also thought he could have passed several of those cars for more points .. nascar is all about the points anymore every point counts but drivers don't think that way even when they should be in the running for track champion .
One could argue the value gained by the risk of damage to their car ect, zobrist I am sure would have made it back to 10 th spot or so.
When they started the race , at least 6 cars 6,51,78,25,39,3 taylor could be a winner which makes for good racing. And probably a few more good cars in the crowd also not shorting anyone just pointing out that it's several good cars.. better than one car will win most likely racing.

Chad did not elect to go to the infeild. There was a gentleman sitting just in front of that went to the fence in turn 4 after Chad spun and pointed him to the infeild. I dont know who this man is. But, evidentally he is important on chads part.

Brandon Paul.. Let me go back and look at my tape.. I taped the whole race.. Watching it now.. Just like RanDyd2 says. its about points.. And with his car and his driving skills he could have still passed a few cars for more points. plain and simple..

Maverick.. Sure there could have been something wrong with Chad's car.. But he sure didnt seem to think so when he went to the back of the pack and he didnt elect to pull it off til he was through turn 4.. I know the track was dryslick again. But he still should have stayed out there..I dont think there was anything wrong with his car. Maybe someone from his pit crew was just mad and thought that Frankie had spun him.. but looking at the tape he spun himself..

Done with rewatching the tape.. All cars were still in the field. None had dropped out.

Granted it was an awesome Late Model feature, but is there a reason for such delayed reactions on the flag mans part? Either give the man some coffe to wake him up, or get someone who will actually watch the race and not the stands so as not to have so many delayed yellow flags. First time to visit highland and all i could figure out is high banks, cool racing, sad flag man.... perhaps i will just stick to TRI-City

That was my point. I didnt think Frankie spun him either. Whoever the guy was like you said is someone from his crew or whoever. What i was saying people on here said he got mad and elected to go off. He was told to go off.
Your right I think he should have stayed out there. A lot of laps where left to race. He could have picked up a lot of spots.

thats one reason why I said I would never understand him. you never see Frankie, Mark, Tomcat, Michael Kloos, Dick Taylor ( who found a water leak on his car so he couldnt make it). leave unless something is broke or with less than 2 laps to go. Hes a much better driver to act like a child.. JMHO

You'd better ask the Taylors about getting hit after the races were over by Frankie. How about his performance at Bell-clair Friday night in the heat race when he intentionally did a slide job across Saltys front nose for second place, it wasn't even for the win. Now how's that for clean driving?

BarHopper

I saw the Friday night deal at Belle-Clair Speedway but like many no official did, and I cannot say about Saturday night. Thanks-Danny

Regarding the issue with Zobe pulling off- Stats show that it cost $60 a lap to run LMs.Add to that the risk of crashing in the rear and it becomes an easy decision to pull off. Brent was spun out but directed to the rear with 7 laps to go. I told him to pull off also. Not cause we were mad but sometimes it doesnt make sense to take the risk when your only going to gain a few positions for a small amount of $. JMO
