Bardstown, KY-July 30- Rick Corbin of Independence, KY made his first visit to Bluegrass Speedway in 2005 a profitable one as he captured the Northern All Star Late Model Series sanctioned 3rd Annual My Old Kentucky Shootout at Bluegrass Speedway. Other feature winners included Josh Lucas of Bardstown, KY in Modifieds and Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in Street Stocks.

The start of the 30 lap, $3,500 to win Late Model main event saw Dustin Neat, Joey Daniel, and Rick Corbin go three wide for the lead off of turn two, with Daniel going to the point, with Corbin second, and Neat third. Caution would wave on lap 2 as NASCAR Nextel Cup Series competitor Tony Stewart would loop his mount in turn four. The restart would see Terry English battle Dustin Neat for third, as he would gain the spot on lap 3. The battle at the point would then settle into a classic side by side battle as Corbin worked the bottom side and Daniel worked the top side, with the pair racing just inches apart around the ½ mile high banked Nelson County dirt oval, pulling away from the rest of the field in the early going. Bryan Barber would challenge Dustin Neat for fourth, with Barber finally taking the top spot on lap 8, with Brad Neat rolling past brother Dustin Neat for the fifth spot on lap 9. Daniel and Corbin continued their two-step dance for the top spot, with Corbin finally getting a good run off of the bottom of turn two on lap 15 as the lead duo entered slower traffic. Brad Neat and Barber would then start to battle for fourth and this duo would close up on third place English, with the trio dancing three wide on the black ice in turns one and two on lap 19 for third. Lap 21 would see Brad Neat go to fourth on Barber and Neat would then challenge English for third two circuits later. Corbin was beginning to distance himself a bit from Daniel at this point as the top runners all worked slower traffic. As the five lap to go signal was given to the field, Brad Neat would drive by Engish for third, with Barber also challenging English, with Barber claiming fourth on lap 27. But no one would catch Corbin on this night as Corbin drove his Pro-Prop Insurance Restoration/Duck Creek Auto Parts/Corbin's Auto Body/Dickman's Sports Café/Fields Welding/Blue Star Mobility/Cincinnati Gas Lite #9 MasterSbilt Race Cars, H and C Race Engines entry. Daniel would claim second, trailed by Brad Neat, Barber, and English. Current NALMS points leader Steve Barnett would head up the second five, followed by Dustin Neat, 16th starting Tim Tungate, Steve Hillard, and Michael England. Twenty eight entries saw English be the overall fast qualifier with a 16.818 second lap. Heat wins went to Daniel, Dustin Neat, and Corbin, while Tungate won the B-main. Series provisional starting spots went to Duane Chamberlain and Mike Mataragas, while Lee Devasier was the track provisional.

The Modified feature would see Joey Kramer and Josh Lucas battle early on for the race lead, with Kramer finally taking the top spot on lap 3, only to retire with mechanical woes in a caution plagued event that would be cut short due to the time limit. Josh Lucas would win his third Modified feature of the season in the Gerald, Rita, and Jenna Lucas owned Lucas Oil/The Car Pool/Family Chiropractic/Riggs Electric/On Time Courier/Betty Seng Insurance/K and N Filters/ Quick Fuel Concepts sponsored #78 Lightning Chassis, Dale Meers Race Engines powered mount. Mike Watson, Joe Gray, Jason Wheatley, and Dion Benningfield would complete the top five. Rounding out the top ten were Freddy Garmon, Joe Mattingly, Adam Gootee, Adam Cole, and Justin Rattliff. Twenty three entries saw Benningfield set quick time, with Lucas also winning the dash. Heat race wins went to Kramer and Wheatley.

Avral Thompson made a last lap pass of Bo Wallace to pick up his second Street Stock feature win in a curfew shortened main event aboard his Cozy Corner/ Backyard Bounce/Teamsters Local 89/Nalley's Exhaust/Maywood Chevron/ Bluegrass Siding/Groucho Barx Internet Service #44 Chevy Caprice. Wallace would wind up second, with Willie Edelen, Lee Gray, and Roy Skaggs rounding out the top five. Darrell Biven would go sixth, trailed by Jesse Key, Doug Estep, Troy Moore, and Shane Litton. Thirty one entries saw heat wins scored by Edelen, Thompson, and Terry Bartley, while Casey Bryan won the B-main.
