Right Foot Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth takes SRRS at Ducktona!
“Right Foot” Ronny Lee Hollingsworth took the grand prize in the second PPM Race Products sponsored SRRS event of the 2010 season. The event, held March 6 at Duck River Speedway in Wheel, Tennessee drew drivers from as far away as Illinois and Missouri. Hollingsworth set the fastest time overall out of 31 Super Late Models that registered in for the event, securing a front row starting position in the feature.
At the drop of the green flag, Hollingsworth took the lead and never looked back…leading the 40-lap race green to checkered. During an interview at the Driver Autograph session, Ronny Lee stated that he had been to Duck River Speedway on many occasions and had never really done any good there. And since he was sitting on the pole for the feature, he would see how it all panned out. At winner’s circle, it was apparent that crew members as well as Ronny Lee were very excited with the outcome!
There were only two cautions for the entire 40 laps. Caution number two came at lap 34 when David Seibers’ mounting brackets broke on the fifth arm along with the 5th and 6th coil and the whole thing came out resulting in debris being strewn in turns 3 and 4. Chad Winkles was a victim of the debris when part of the debris punctured his oil pan putting an end to his night too.
Hard charger award goes to Josh Putnam #212 of Florence, Alabama. Josh started the feature in 17th place and steadily moved to the front finishing the feature in 9th position.
