Parking and Transportation Improvements Announced For Charter 250 Race!

Madison, IL - Gateway International Raceway announced today that Robby Gordon has agreed to run
in the Charter 250 NASCAR Busch Series race on Saturday night, May 8. In addition the track has
announced transportation improvements and 1,000 additional parking spots.
Gordon currently drives in both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series. He sits fifth in the Busch Series
points standings and 22nd overall in the Nextel Cup. Gordon is one of the most versatile drivers in
racing. He is a six-time off-road champion and has also driven for A.J. Foyt in the Indy series.
"Robby Gordon is a premier driver in the Busch and Nextel Cup Series," added Gateway Vice President
and General Manager Matt Strelo. "This field keeps on getting better and we are happy to give our race
fans the best."
Gateway International Raceway has also added There will also over 6 acres of new parking (up to 1,000
additional parking spots) for spectators will be available behind the Gateway Truck Plaza across from
the track on Route 203. The earth used to create the lot was excavated from the ground as part of the
construction of the new Downtown St. Louis Cardinals Ballpark.
"The construction team building the stadium needed a place to put the clean fill and we needed more
parking -- the match was perfect," stated Gateway Vice President and General Manager Matt Strelo.
In addition, Metro Link and the St. Clair County Transit District will run buses to and from the race
from the Emerson Park station. The last buses will leave the track at 11:10 pm. If weather becomes an
issue, the last buses will leave one hour after the race ends. In any situation no one will get stranded.
