he donated the helmet he threw at waltrip for hurricane katrina relief a bike dealer has a bid of 100,500 right now.

Am I reading this correctly???? Wednesday morning, time is 3:17a.m .... the bid is now $8,000,700.00....WOW for a helmet???...

Way to go Robby you are the MAN......turned a bad, heat of the moment situtation into something postive .... I am sure most drivers have been there done that..OR..at least wanted, too. I can think of a couple of locals I have seen do it...!!!!!

You have definitly moved to the top of my favorite driver list.

Wow

Up to $10,000,900 at 9:38 AM. At least it is going to charity for hurricane Katrina. Talk about taking a bad situation into a good one. What a classy move Gordon is doing.

Over Ten million now......just from some of buying and selling feedback on several of the bidders, I would say they are bogus bids!!!!

Throughout the bidding, has it been the same high bidder? If so, that man is probably willing to pay a ton of money for that helmet, and has a really high maximum bid.

Hopefully he didn't forget where to put the decimal point in his max bid. He might get a real surprise.

That really stinks! I thought this was turning into a great thing and turns out it's just a hoax or something. What's up with this anyway???

They said on the radio that they didn't think someone would pay 10 million for the helmet and if the proceeds are going to cahrity they have to have legal documents stating the charity and all of that good stuff which robby gordon did not have. Robby said that hopefully everything will be straightened out today and the helmet will be back on ebay by tomorrow morning.

The helmet went back on line tonight, at 10:00pm lasting until Sunday night. E-bay realized that the bidding was bogas and pulled it, possibly with penalties to the bidders if found to be trumped up bids.........Jeeze ...Some people. Anyway it went back online for bid, by a company recomended by Ebay called AuctionCause. I think they can keep a better handle on the bidding. Hopefully it will still bring a fair price, after all, it still is going to a worthy cause.

This is probably another stunt coreographed by NASCAR to get some much needed press to help eliminate the embarassing moments in NASCAR!

The helmet is back up for bids now, but bidders will be vetted and some paperwork is in place guaranteeing the money goes to charity.
