Roll cage location

So im hearing and seeing some cars going up for sale due to ump os going to crack down on the roll cage location(cannot be set back at all). So that being said will this rule be enforced locally? Also body rules as well. Anyone else hearing this?

I believe the roll cage rule is for the street stocks not the factory stocks. Finally the factory stocks have a set of rules. The way they read they took the rules from Tri city's book and made them UMP rules. As far as trickling down to affecting locally...im not sure it will unless the tracks do it themselves.

Yes its the street stock rules. Wasnt granite’s class street stocks? Their factory stocks were the 4 cylinders. I know of 3 cars from lincoln which were street stocks for sale because they have set back cages and i see this is being talked aboutt. Also went and checked...their class is the street stock class per street stock rules yet doesnt have the cage centered rule in their rulebook. So my question remains...where do the local tracks stand on this because several cars are set back but run around here

Yes Tri City calls their 4 cylinder class factory stocks but according to UMP they are pro-4s. Yes Tri City calls what is supposed to be factory stocks street stocks! According to UMP the street stocks at Tri City are supposed to be called factory stocks and the 4 cylinder class pro-4s. Go to www.umpdirtcar.com and look it up. Look at the points section and see what local drivers are in the factory stock points and see who is in the pro-4s. I dont know how much more clear it can be. The street stock rules according to UMP are the ones you can run weight jacks. Its all a play of words. The cage rule doesnt apply at this time to the (street stocks) that run Tri City, Belleville, Highland, Brownstown.

Well sorry but too me a street stock class should go by street stock rules and im sure ump would agree. That is pretty black and white there. And yes your correct in the fact tracks play around with rules and wording. That is why i asked if the local tracks were going to push unp’s rules per street stock classification. That was a pretty cut and dry question

I get that belleville highland call their class factory stocks. But tracks like brownstown macon tri city donot. That is why i asked. Hint as ive said guys are selling their street stocks due to this rule enforcement

Macon runs the UMP street stocks not the factory stocks which are what is ran at Tri City, Belleville, Highland, Brownstown. Now Charleston runs both the street stocks and the factory stocks so the rules will only effect the street stocks there not the factory stocks. The only difference in the factory stock rules from Tri City and Brownstown than the other two tracks around here are that Tri City and Brownstown allows rear weight jacks and the others do not. If you built you car to the way Kevin said to do it then all you have to do is remove the allthread bolt and then your legal at all the other local tracks. The cage rule will not effect the cars that run at any of our local tracks. It will only effect street stocks that run tracks like Macon, Quincy, Charleston, Jacksonville, Lincoln, Lasalle. The way Tri City and Brownstown word the class is confusing to some and yes i think they should call them exactly what they are....FACTORY STOCKS.

There has always been a set back rule with measurements in the rule book for Ump but no one enforced them just like most Ump stuff, if they are now making mandatory come this time of year then shame on them and all involved for not enforcing, doesn't affect my cars

Yeah like 2017 UMP pro mod rules saying MSD is legal 6aln box recommended. For crate engines Now I hear it won't be. But no official word out of UMP as of yet. They don't give a sh!t .
